Random thought, have you checked your coolant level? A bit of that sounded like a pump catching some air. That or a bad bearing chattering.

That's interesting you ask. The noise was going this morning, so I swung by a dealership right by my house, and got a second opinion. The coolant is low, they think there may be an air bubble or something (sorry, wasn't very familiar) and they say the sound is likely my front engine's coolant pump. Appointment a week from today.

So i just received word from the 2nd opinion dealership that my truck was done. I can't explain how put off and angry I am by the original dealership.

There, the EV master techs refuse -- REFUSE -- to speak with me or customers. It's brushed off by my service rep as "that's how all techs are" but that CANNOT be the case. I have had legit concerns / questions in the past that, frankly, a service rep is in no way prepared to answer. I get second-hand answers that made little sense.

My service tech was perfectly kind, but when it comes to software / tech issues, woefully unable to provide insights beyond "this is just the way they say it is." the original dealership techs told me the sound i was hearing was nothing.

They supposedly did a multi point inspection during this. One of the workers there said I was having problems bc: “that’s what you get for buying one of those EVs” which I’ll be honest really pissed me off. I’ve switched my preferred dealer as a result. That sort of sentiment says a lot.

I just got a call back from my second opinion dealer that said there was pretty much no coolant in my system at all. They drained what was there, flushed it, and refilled it. Luckily no damage, but wtf?
My original source supposedly did a multi point inspection but didn’t check the coolant??

I'm so angry about this. This is not an inexpensive piece of machinery. My kids ride in this with me. I rely on it. To think being brushed off could have resulted in, well- who knows, really angers me.

I plan on calling the GM of the dealership to say this in more detail. But check your fluids, everyone!!

On a side note, pretty ironic the electric buzzing sound had nothing to do with the EV engines or charging infrastructure.

So all hardware was OK?

Look over the work report once you pick up the truck, curious if they changed any parts but didn't say so on the phone conversation.

They told me they didn't see any damage, no leaks.

Something is wrong, there is significant amount of fluid in the whole system. Lots of tubing and hoses, perhaps two chillers (max towing only), radiator, ect. There must be damage, or loose connector, somewhere...

In 6-7 months of use to find it very low ... ??? I used to check my reservoir weekly, never any change, now I am reminded I better check it more often.

Good Luck, please keep us posted on "the rest of the story".

By "Very low" what I mean is the reservoir was literally empty. Now it's filled with neon green impossible-to-miss.

Ive never seen any pools or drips where I've parked. No warning lights / emergency lights.

To remove the air from the system requires holding a vacuum pressure for a hour or so. Several folks here have experienced a bubble in the system after having a module replaced simply because the vacuum pressure wasn't held long enough. A sudden drop in the reservoir level was the result. Perhaps there isn't any leak, only the failure to completely fill the system to begin with. You will obviously learn more as you watch the level over the next week or so. This video at about 30 minute mark will show the process. (it is on a old Mach E with two reservoirs, but the theory is correct)
