My Bronco used to act up, there was too much going on. The phone would not work correctly when android auto had waze and audio going (always), I had to answer with the steering wheel buttons only. Anything else and it would just hang up.

This happened recently on my 21 F150 Lariat PowerBoost, and the family was in the car at the time. I had no choice but to do the reset. It was working a few hours before with no issues. However I did see that I was just updated to 2.8.2 so I figured that would have caused things to fault.

Day 3 with my lightning I used sync navigation for a trip about and hour away. I have my phone connected via CarPlay and about 10 minutes from my destination I get a teams call and that’s when things went awry. I rejected the call from the steering wheel controls and the sync map screen map went white. I tried changing apps and it had no response. Needing to know where to turn next, I pulled over and after messing with the screen for a while it took some inputs. I was able to cancel navigation but it wouldn’t let me enter the address again because it thought I was still moving. It was still in an odd state with a lot of white blanks on the screen. At that point I gave up and used google maps on my phone to get to my destination. At my destination I stopped the truck via the push button, started again and its still Locked up. So, I went to my event. When I returned and opened the door sync started correctly.

Anyone else see sync issues? Anyone know how to reboot other than waiting it out?
Hello there! Are you still experiencing these sync issues? If so, I would like to look into them on my end. Please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer. Thank you!

You get a soft reset (like alt-ctl-del) after the vehicle has gone to sleep. Sleep usually happens about 15 minutes after you shut the vehicle off. That's why you see sync "return to normal" after a short while, but don't see it by shutting the vehicle down and turning it on immediately.

If you want to reset the Sync system on the road - press the volume down and skip track button on the wheel and it should reboot :)
