I recently had my truck in for service for a software upgrade to fix an issue with the parking sensors. The service advisor mentioned the factory recommended additional updates which they installed. Ever since then, I get a "System off to save battery" message when I turn the truck off. I also get messages in the app stating I have to drive the vehicle to reconnect. As a result, the welcome & dome lights don't come on when I unlock the truck (I verified the setting is on).

I read on here that a weak 12V battery could cause this issue, however mine is just over a year old and I tested it with a meter and it read 14V. So, I don't think this is the issue.

*Updated. It turns out there was an issue with Software Update 10.1.1, the dealer had to re-install.

Your battery is not 14V. You're testing it with the truck running...

The reality is that doing the updates, they drained your 12v. Either they did this by not hooking up the required 12v power supply, hooking it up incorrect (to the battery not jump posts), or similar.

Two choices - drive a bunch or put your 12v (via the jump posts) on a Battery Tender.

Mine was in early October. Tech is very knowledgeable. I got the same message... Drove it, went away.

I had this same issue after the truck sat in my garage not plugged in for three days. Put a 2.5 amp battery tender on 12V and it took about 20hrs to show fully charged.
I thought even not plugged in the HVB would charge the LVB when it got around 50%.

I had the same message today after returning to the truck at airport after leaving It 5 days ago. It started fine, and drove it back home.

Wasn't the recent BMS updates supposed to address insufficient LVB battery charge issues?

Adding the resolution here in case anyone else has the same problem. It turns out there was an issue with Software Update 10.1.1, the dealer had to re-install. My service advisor mentioned there were other Lightnings in the shop with the same issue. *The 12V battery was fine.

I get this message daily

EDIT: Usually with “F-150 Lightning saved” or something like it as well.

Had this happen once a couple weeks back. Checked CarScanner and the 12v was showing at about 60% after being off the charger for 5 days. My guess is the dealer actually made sure the 12v was charged properly this time during the update and was just saying they "reapplied" updates.
