That's not to code, you need a waterproof enclosure sack.

Merry Christmas all!
Sadly I never really noticed how different the rear of the Lariat and Platinums are to the Pros and XLT. Sadly no wonder @Ford Motor Company is not making as much profit as they like. While the rear light bar is nice, there are so so many unshared components. Such a waste.

Good point, but it is something that Ford has been well known for over the years. It’s one thing to change grills and maybe headlights between trim levels, but it is inefficient to change parts panels and major interior components between trims. In the last two years of the Ford Ford dramatically trimmed its option choices across the entire product line. As a result, when I bought my 2019 Fusion Hybrid, the choices were pretty much trim levels, exterior color and interior color. For the Titanium, the only stand alone option I recall was a block heater. I think that Ford needs to streamline its options again.

A good example would be to look at what Volvo has done with its new EX90 BEV 3 row SUV. There are no exterior differences to the body itself or the interior other than than wheels, soft close doors, puddle lights, laminated side glass, air suspension, seats with massage and power side bolsters on the higher trim. This means that the car’s similarly allows Volvo to limit the size of its parts bin, which in turn reduces production costs as well as costs associated with stocking replacement parts. Things that add to efficiency and profitability.
