someone was posting about a similar thing on the ranger. shrug
Looks like the lumber strapped to the tailgate is holding up the tailgate in the Ranger photo.

There is nothing in the CyberTruck photo visibly holding up the tailgate.

Reddit guy posted that picture to show that the tailgate and rest of the bed is level. Without it the tailgate sags lower. His post:

@Randall Stephens you tell the guy of the cybertruck to take it to a service center? Would suck to have it break.

The reddit guy seems to own a f150 lightning now. I wonder if hes on these forums haha

Tailgate straps are slack. What is holding up the tailgate?
It is the bent frame causing the bumper to hold up the tailgate before they tow the next time and kit a pot hole and the whole thing falls off…😱

I have seen trucks with overloaded tailgates bend where the cable attaches to the back corner of the bed. The back corner sheet metal twisted. But that was also on an older, rusted-out truck.

That's just an "undocumented feature" ... have we mentioned it's really cool and sleek and made from stainless steel by Dr. X himself!
