What are my chances of getting $2,200 Tonneau Cover removed from my order before delivery?

I ordered my Lariat ER on 11-15-22 and I ordered the retractable Tonneau Cover but quickly realized that it would never work for me because it rolls up into a box that sits at the back of the bed and permanently takes up more than a foot of room in the already tiny bed.

Anyway, I wanted to get that removed from my order 3 days after ordering, so I called dealer. He tried going in the system to change it but he said that the system wouldn't let him amend the order. I told him that the cover won't even be installed at the factory... it will be installed at the dealer. He said he doesn't know if there's anything can do about it.

So, do you guys think there's anyway I can get Ford OR my dealer to remove this item before they ship it, or even after they ship it? That would be kinda cruel to make me buy it when it wasn't 72 hours after I ordered it and I tried to amend the order but to no avail.

The truck is not even built yet and probably won't be shipped for another month from now. Do you think I could bug the crap out of Ford customer service into letting me NOT have to be stuck with a cover I don't want? The Cover is shipped with the truck... can't they just keep the cover at the factory for the next person who orders a retractable cover? It's not like I'm asking them to do something like change the color of the truck. Jeeeeez.

If your Priority in the Ford system is less than 10, the dealer cannot change anything. They would have to get their Zone Representative to set the Priority to 10. The dealer then can make the changes you want. Then the dealer would have to contact their Rep again to set the Priority back to where it was originally.

If you're Priority is less than 10 then you should be scheduled soon. I would ask the dealer to check your Priority number soon to see if that is what needs to happen.
