Chevrolet tried to deny there were problems with the batteries in the Chev Bolt. Eventually they felt forced to announce a buy back for any owner of all years, along with a battery replacement program for those who didn't take advantage of the buyback. They didn't actually fully live up to the commitment to replace all the batteries, but the whole problem cost Chev and the battery manufacturer a few billions. The fires tended to occur if two rare manufacturing faults appeared in the same module of a battery.

If I was Ford I would be cautious about battery problems....

Good to hear from the COO that things are moving. My truck has been sitting in a lot since the February battery fire outside of Ford’s factory… I mean, since the “quality assurance hold.”

Out of a group of seven Lightnings ordered by a local dealer, that he said had been built but were being held in Dearborn since January over "quality assurance", five have been listed by Ford as "Shipped" since May 22.

Three of the five were shipped in the last week.

I think I figured out, for the build and price people, how to see when the last update was made. It isn't easy. We don't have access to the page that @TaxmanHog showed up above.

It involves browser F12 mode and looking at the data retrieved, but long story short it said:
Ford F-150 Lightning What's Your 2024 Lightning Order Status? 1717534724806-mw

GRTA seems to mean "ready to ship" - what's important here is that my status changed 6/1, which means things are happening.

If anyone is interested, I'll try to write steps.

I searched on vehicleStatusCode GRTA

I got a link to an early 2022 post on bronco6G.com "Decoding the Vehicle Status Code"

People were exchanging ideas on what various 4 letter codes that appeared after vehicleStatusCode in page source markup meant. They would get to a Ford webpage about their reservation, bring up the source code, and see what their vehicleStatusCode was. They'd compare the code they found to whatever firm info they had obtained from their dealer or Ford.

It seemed that many thought GRTA indicated that a vehicle was very close to being shipped.

One guy thought GRTA might mean "Getting Rail Train/Transit Assigned", based on the fact that his dealer had told him his vehicle had been built and was waiting to be shipped, and the fact that the markup language in the source for whatever Ford webpage he was looking at classified his vehicle as GRTA.

Where are they?
If you’re asking where the 2024’s are - I believe Ford sales numbers are based on end-user sales. It is not the same as production or shipped to dealers.

Thus it likely includes a significant number of 2023 model year sales (and maybe some 2022).

From an online report:
*U.S. sales volume reflects transactions with (i) retail and fleet customers (as reported by dealers), (ii) government
and (iii) Ford management.

Exactly correct @bmwhitetx sales is a composition of model years in inventory that have not been previously owned, used vehicles are not in the monthly counts.
