First public charging on a road trip...

Had a similar encounter back in Feb of 2023 in SoCal. The rarest part was that every Electrify America station was functioning at the same time.

I wonder how many of them are charging with the 250 kWh credit. After mine ran out, I looked for a supercharger first (while I had the Tesla membership).

I still have my free kwh but ATM I am charging at a Circle K that isn't part of the Blue Oval Network. I've got a Tesla account because I have a Model 3 and I'm not opposed to using Superchargers when I need to. Unlike EV America, Chargepoint, etc. Superchargers always work. Never had one down in years of driving a Tesla.

Agree that the more shocking part is a full bank of working EA stations. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a full bank of them operational

Let me tell you.. don't let the picture fool you. The 4th charger kept terminating the session after a few minutes of charging. I had to switch to a different charger once another Lightning left.

So I am at the local Holiday Inn testing out my new A2Z destination charger adapter, as you do on a Saturday afternoon, and I see a Tesla pull up. He pulls in to the clipper creek J1772 chargers, as I figured he must have thought those were the correct ones to use since the F150 was at the other chargers.
To my surprise he pulls out his adapter and plugs right in! So now we have two vehicles at the opposite chargers with adapters! Just thought it was worth a laugh!

It's called sharing, understanding and adapting to the situation. Without pulling a temper tantrum. Well done!

Agreed! I talked to the Tesla driver a short bit later, and I pointed out the irony of the situation. He just shrugged his shoulders and said I have the adapter and it works. Seems like a refreshing attitude from what I’ve read about other Tesla drivers calling the police on non-Teslas charging and Tesla chargers!
