I installed the pedestrian speaker delete kit on my 2023 Lariat Lightning many months ago. I just started seeing on startup a pedestrian sounder fault service now on my dashboard. I have just been hitting the OK button on steering wheel and going about my day. Driving two days ago my windshield got a rock chip that turning into a massive crack and need it replaced. I made appointment and described how the truck works to the person because some people have no idea about EVā€™s. I told the person that when the truck turns on this fault will show on dashboard and just to hit the OK and it will disappear from screen. The person said that it was going to be an issue when they calibrate the new windshield to make sure all the sensors, etc. work correctly. They said there canā€™t be any fault codes.

ā€˜Has anyone had this particular issue? Is what the glass shop is saying true? I know that I can remove the delete and hook the speaker back up but will the error code clear?

I have a 2022 F350 and used Forscan to make some adjustments on it but have not had any reason to mess with my Lightning.
I am looking for some guidance here for the easiest solution.
Thanks

You can disable the ped. Sounder with forscan and that just takes the module completely offline.

Yes, it's true. Had my Mach-E windshield replaced on Tuesday, and the first thing they did was clear all trouble codes.

Going into any service work on the vehicle with trouble codes is risky for service people. If they do it's just asking for trouble.

Was this at the dealer or a glass shop?

We had to replace the windshield on my daughterā€™s 23 trailblazer a few months after she got it last year The new windshield has clips to mount the collision stuff. There was no calibration necessary. I donā€™t know if it would be the same or not.

Doesn't matter where. It is required to check the calibration, which requires clearing the trouble codes.

Safelite, in my driveway.

Canā€™t you just plug it back in to the actual speaker? Mine are right next to each other.
