I have a 2024 Flash and have been using wireless AA on a Galaxy S10e. Whenever I drive past a local airport, it seems my wireless AA connection stutters and sometimes fails entirely. After passing the airport, I can reconnect with no problem and everything is okay.

I think this issue stems from the fact that the wifi used by the Lightning insists on using the 5ghz spectrum and because parts of that spectrum overlays with radar from airports, it stands to reason that's the cause of the interference and disconnects.

Is there a way to force the truck to use the 2.4ghz spectrum instead since that won't have the same interference issue?

Even on the 2.4ghz band you can get interference from random things. The only way to assuredly avoid radio interference is to disable the wireless connection and permanently use the cable to connect. Wired also works while using an adblocking VPN, so that's a bonus.

I suppose this may be an alternative (my only alternative instead of using Bluetooth). Do all of the USB ports on this truck charge as well as transfer data? I'd actually prefer a data-only port and not one that charges as well.

I don't think the USB spec allows for data transfer without supplying power. Even if it does, the truck does supply power from all USB ports, but there are some that don't connect to sync and only supply power, the opposite of what you want. FWIW there's really not a great reason to not have power to your phone. The phone's software can do better to maximize the life of your battery than manual intervention.

I have not tested this recently. .... IIRC, only the USB-A/C in the forward of shifter do data, the armrest and rear passenger ports do not.

Mine won't {Norton AV/VPN} I haven't looked to see if I can customize it to trust the trucks projection SSID, is that how you got yours to work?

FWIW - on a JVC receiver in my Ford Transit van using AA Wireless I had this same issue at certain places around town. I knew when I'd come to those intersections and get ready to reconnect.

Less often I see it in my Lightning, but there are certain places on the freeway where connection will drop consistently.

I don't think an issue specific to the vehicle, just AA wireless in general.

I recently went into developer settings on my Pixel 8 pro and switched Bluetooth Map from version 1.2 to 1.4

My wireless connection has been much more stable since, I don't think I've had a single random disconnect.

That reminds me of the times the band I was in the the 1970's would play a gig at a bar or hall near an airport or military air base...the microphones and amps would often pickup the radio chatter. Funny in retrospect but a real hassle at the time. Needed to put the band in a Faraday cage!
