My Samsung products work fine. Android Auto does slow the charging process, but that is to be expected.

Seems strange that there’s so much variability of experiences. I wonder if there is a manufacturing issue. Has anyone had the opportunity to try out the wireless charging in more than one truck?

I have had no issues with my 14pro in over 24k miles of driving. Phone seems to like it best with the bottom of the phone pointed to the driver and over by about 5mm to the right from the left edge of the pad. Official MagSafe leather and clear plastic cases.

Works fine on my iphone12 and Samsung s7 tries to melt my wife’s iphone15. Suspect it’s how much power the phones can take wireless - newer being higher = hotter - I’d turn off “fast” charging but her phone not mine *shrug*

we added simple off-the-shelf USB C Wireless Charger stands to both our EV9 and LIGHTNING since the 'included' units are so problematic(my PRO came without one, but this works very well...)... and we can move, mount, or place them anywhere that makes sense for our needs.

The KIA's charger pad, included in the 'center console', creates a problem, not only with actually sitting the phone on the charger pad 'correctly' to get to ever work, but that when you've placed the phone on the pad, and close the top 'console pad', you then CAN'T see the phone for any notifications, GPS map routing, etc. Crazy placement, though some will say this is the 'safe place' so that you can't be distracted - well, that's not real life... we WANT our phones for other reasons, not to just 'text' and do distracting things - GPS is just as 'distracting', although it's a legitimate legal 'reason' to be looking at your phone.... crazy.

I find it stupid, too, that many of the manufacturer's software platforms create BLOCKING for certain activities on their own screens, and YET, to find a radio station or to move the Navigation screen, pinching or scrolling, etc., are NOT somehow 'distractions'.... crazy.

I know for iPhone, placement is key. Just throwing it on there, or even trying to center it on the pad will barely work, if at all. I haven't tried the top toward driver placement described above, but I know if I have the top toward the passenger and slide it so I can see 1 square of the pad's grid on the driver's side, the phone will charge quite well. For awhile I thought it was bad until I did some experimentation.

Having said that, plugged-in charging will always be faster/more efficient.

Hi all,
For anyone who has the wireless phone charging pad in the front console, how is yours working? Mine doesn’t really seem to charge my iPhone all that well, and it makes my phone really hot.
Hello! Send us a private message with your VIN and current mileage. Allow me to see what I can do to assist. Thanks!
