The Ford dealer where I went for the light bar and wiper motor recalls said I didn’t need the wiper motor service even though I had the Ford recall letter, and that the CSP items were not to be done since the truck had no symptoms of problems.

Is that how the CSP things work? Seems as if others on this forum
are getting them attended to.
Well on the wiper motor issue specifically they had to do a visual inspection to see if the part number was in the list of suspect motors. If it wasn't then you're done and no action required.

And if you're referring to the CSP 23B57 on "items were not to be done", I read it differently. Note the highlighted section of the attached.

You're not the first forum member to state that their service advisor said that the software was not to be updated if there were no symptoms. So not sure where that's coming from.

They need to read the CSPs more closely. Here is the text from the battery and the Dash Mat CSPs that state they should be performed on ALL vehicles.

Received the email too. Just for fun I called the number and they told me I needed the light bar and the 23B57, a fun game of I had that done, no you didn’t, yes I did, no you didn’t, yes I did, no…oh wait yes you did…ensued. Bottom line is no one seems to know why they’re keeping it open, but I think it’s as @carys98 suggests.
If you do an update in FDRS yourself the FSA will take pretty much forever to clear (it will likely expire first).

I did the BECM (all powertrain modules really) update and it will probably stay in my list until next year's Ford OTA summer interns run a script to look for trucks that have the version of the BECM module that were updated successfully.
