I just came from the event, and I can say it was worth getting lots of questions answered.

1. They learned from the failures of opening up orders for Bronco and Mach E. They will do it in waves based on when you placed your reservation. If you placed it in the first hour, you get the chance to order your vehicle before the person who did it a month later.

2. The survey they sent was not a finalized breakdown of the trims and pricing. The strategy was pretty much accurate, so not much will change, but they are using these meetups this year to finalize and improve the vehicle breakdown.

3. They were surprised by the breakdown of the survey, which they failed to predict with the Bronco. The sasquatch package was expected to be only ~20% of the orders on the Bronco, but this ended up being closer to 70%. Same with Lightning, they said over ~60% want a Lariat+ or higher trim, and a majority want the extended range battery. This was not necessarily expected when planing the manufacturing production capacity. Also, less than 10% wanted the pro or base version.

4. Highest region of reservation was California which makes sense based on EV charging capability and higher adoption rates of the EV here. This doesn't mean all vehicles will come here; first, it will be based on reservation time and order confirmation time.

5. As for order confirmation, they plan to have a feedback loop with you to let you know if you have a more Popular order configuration and if you want to change anything to get it faster. You will have to sign a waiver to move the order process into the dealer's hands ( I assume this will get you a better place in line, but it also leaves the opportunity for the dealer to mark up the price). I plan to do everything online and involve my dealer only for pickup.

6. The launch trims were meant to be the jack of all trades, which means being good off-road, able to tow, very fast off the line, etc. Options to get a better road-oriented vehicle with more aerodynamic wheels and tires or a more aggressive offroad look were not the point. Those trims might come later but probably not next year. That's also why they don't have the first edition because there are so many extras that come standard across all trims.

What does that mean?
Sorry - they are bundling the charger with the higher end models but realize some people may already have car chargers installed. They'd like to give these people more free kW (Included with the Ford Pass) to make up for the fact they are not receiving a charger.

So that's about 260 miles total range. Being a platinum we will assume the ER battery

Let me say it here. I definitely want the Pro version. I don't even want the extended battery if it was available for non-fleet.
I’m with you. C’mon cloth seats!

What does26 mean? What is EVSE? Does it mean you can’t use truck as house backup power if you don’t have ER battery?

Lastly, bummer on IBS. Looks like a pale silver. I’m now focused on CG or RR I think.

So, instead of the pro charger, they'll throw in a few hundred EA kWh?.

The 80amp charger is probably worth $2000-3000. At average $0.40/ kwh charging that better be a hell of a lot of kwh free. I would think they'll give you the free Dcfc on top of the 80amp pro charger

  1. Charge Profile - FLATTER THAN MACH-E - 150 MAX FOR NOW
If the max is 150kW, then it holds that all the way to 80%... otherwise, it's not getting from 15% to 80% (~104kW) in just 41 mins.

Great info. Thanks for doing this!
