Over the last 20 years I have progressed through hybrid, plug-in hybrid and full EV.

Just bought a second EV, the Ford F150 Lightning! Both the wife and I agree, no more ICE cars.

They‘re like going back into the Stone Age……noise, vibration, heat, fumes, rev-ing, shifting, drive train slack, brake dust, oil changes, tune ups And gas pumps. NO Thanks!

Our F150 Lightning is a delight. Driven conservatively it delivers the range and efficiency thats advertised and is better than I expected. I know how to exploit what these cars are capable of. And it’s quite fun rewarding to drive them.

sw engineering manager,
Never going back on the pickup, but still have a couple of other ICE vehicles that don't have good EV alternatives.

Looking to replace our Ford Explorer (which has been the perfect family vehicle). We drove a Rivian R1S which was nice, but my wife hated one pedal mode driving.

And still looking to replace the Corvette soft top. Need an electric convertible sports car with a trunk that can hold golf clubs that costs under $100k (and is not a Tesla).
Don't need 2 sec 0-60. Just need open air driving in something a little sporty.

Anyone that’s owned a trouble free ev understands this. But many people simply can’t wraps their heads around just how superb the driving experience is in an EV, and won’t understand until they own one. Sort of a catch 22.
But when the shift happens, it will happen suddenly. Then you’ll wish more people drove IC cars when there aren’t enough fast-chargers on your next road trip 😂

My Lightning is the first EV in my family. Prior to this, most of my family were very skeptical of EVs citing the usual objections. After taking the plunge, my wife now has her eyes set on either a Mach-E or Q6 etron. My father has his eyes on a Lightning of his own. Brother is looking at an EV9 for his growing family. Father-in-law is still skeptical but I'm sure I can sell him on the many benefits of BEVs.

I will personally never go back to any ICE/Hybrid vehicle. I find that there are actually more inconveniences with ICE vs BEV.

I must be one of the 1%.

I absolutely can see myself buying an ICE vehicles. Not that i have anything against my lightning, it's awesome. But if my truck wasn't my commuter I might get a V8 AT4 or something similar. Or a corvette for fun.

We have one EV and one ICE, and frankly I don't see that changing soon. Which one is ICE and which one is EV could change, but I still want one vehicle that can road trip well, and the lightning adding 4 hours to a 15 hour drive was brutal.

I bought a Focus Electric in 2017, receiving it in November, and despite its 160 km (100 mi) range, I was convinced within months that I would never buy an ICE vehicle again, even without an incentive rebate that actually made the FFE about $1000 less expensive than a comparable ICE Focus.

When I was away on business, my wife would drive the FFE and found it 'drove like a dream". She indicated she still wanted an F150, which she had for many years.

This was early in 2018 and I said when Ford makes an electric F150, I'll buy her one. On July 23, 2019 Ford released the video of a prototype electric F150 pulling railcars loaded with F150s, but a somewhat more quiet announcement of plans for one was made in late 2018. I had my work cut out for me.

We put our deposit to get in line right after the unveiling on May 19, 2021. Our chance to order wasn't until September 2022, it was built in January 2023 and she received it on May 25, 2023.

Promise kept.

Well said. I didn’t anticipate how driving my 23 Lariat would fundamentally change my outlook on technology. I was a gear head. My long-lost 67 Mustang GTA and 67 cherry red cougar were my reference points for how cars should feel on the road. I loved the challenge of making ICE cars work. But having put 14k on my Lightning, I look at gas stations, dealerships, and ICE vehicles with an automatic reaction/revulsion along the lines of “WTF are those still doing here?”. Same way as I’d look at a Conestoga wagon on the freeway, but without any nostalgia or empathy for the oxen. The myriad virtues of EVs have transformed the way I look at and understand transportation. I didn’t see that coming, at all. I still want my GTA back, but know that the only features I’d still love would be the roar and the high school era memories of highballing down the Florida Keys Highway at midnight in the summer with all the windows down.

I will keep my BMW K75 triple cylinder 750cc motorcycle as my ICE vehicle. That's the only one even worth considering, imho... :)
Me too. Mine is a 2002 K1200RS. After owning our 2024 Lightning Lariat for 3 months my wife and I are looking at replacing her 2017 Explorer Platinum with a BEV in the next few years. That will leave only the BMW running on fossil fuel. All my yard equipment is now battery powered as well.

Love our 24 lightning Flash amazing truck. We charge at home and free at work. Last month it would have cost about 45 bucks to charge at home very cheap. I have solar and a Tesla power wall so i build credit in reality it cost 0. We made a 300 mile trip yesterday stopped at a Tesla supercharger used my Lectron adapter did plug and charge using the ford ap worked perfectly. Charged at 185 kw for the first 10 minutes it was rockin then went down to 140 or so then when it got to 80 it dropped to 55kw, only took 20 min from 28% to 80% cost $31.00 . I have the LR pack great experience.

I won't ever go back to fossil fuels for our vehicles. I can't wait to trade up from our diesel tractor to an electric one.

Currently have 3 EVs and 1 Beast F-450 to tow the 5th wheel. When we sell the 5th wheel we will sell the F-450 and only have EVs.

Last 2 years we’ve driven about 45,000 miles. All but 3,000 were with our EVs. Those 3,000 miles were either towing the RV or driving the 450 to keep it lubed up because it sat for a month.

An extremely happy owner of 2021 Job1 MME and a 2022 Lightning. Still own a 2017 convertible Mustang.
I traded my Explorer for the Lightning. The MME was my first EV. First adaptor and I was constantly nagged about what terrible things could happen to me driving an EV. Family , friends and the dealer which I ordered it to be delivered looked at me that something was wrong with my mental reasoning. My reasons were plenty. Wars in the Middle East, crude oil going to $100, hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico, pipeline explosions and other fuel shortages due to geopolitical tensions.
No more. Both my EVs cost me $40 - $60 a month on a regular usage.
Now after 3 1/2 years the questions pour in, and I answer all of them. As long as are genuine questions, I answer them as best I can. The limitations are that most of the people don’t like or best resist change until it is inevitable. Some resist the change all the way to their graves.
I am staying with my EVs.
