Confirmed with my dealer in WA the following:

1. This notice is real and was sent to them in their dealer “portal.”
2. I am #1 reservation at the dealership and I will remain #1 on their list.

Im not so concerned with my place in line as I am with the limits to specific trim levels. That’s where my focus is. At the end of the day… just take a deep breath. If you want this vehicle, you’ll wait. If you want to troll, you’ll troll. If you change your mind… then you change your mind. The sun will rise tomorrow and set in the west and life will go on.

To me it sounds like no one is getting bumped. The dealer gets to pick a few people that normally wouldn't be able to put their order in early.

It doesn't expand the allocation and it doesn't guarantee they get their order built instead of your order.
The way this reads it does guarantee they get their order built instead of one already in the line. It won’t affect a dealers allocation so say they have 50 reservations and you hold number 10. Let’s also say they get an allocation from ford for 10 MY2022 trucks. If they prioritize a big customer that reserved say number 40 then he moves to #1 and you go to 11. Now you get a MY2023 truck.

I think reality is setting in. Whether folks get bumped on not, only so many F150Ls are going to be made in 2022 and yeah some folks who expected to get theirs in 2022 are going to be disappointed.

I completely agree.
It's tough to spend the night on the sidewalk outside the mall and come to terms with there are more sleeping bags than the number of new IPhones in the store. One specific sleeping bag is the cutoff line, but they don't know until after they dreamed all night. :)

I completely agree.

Agreed.
But "that one guy" affected one guy.
You think you are him? I mean I guess you could be.

So a couple questions:

I placed my order at Stephens Autocenter in West VA. They were outstanding to when I purchased my Bronco in the Spring. They sold a ton of Bronco's and kept to their promises on below invoice pricing. I want to buy from them again even though it was a 5 hour drive from Charlotte NC.

I contacted them yesterday and I thought I would be high on there long list of reservations but to my surprise they did not capture many reservations for Lightnings and I also found out I am at the back of the small list they have.

From Dealer:
you are within the first 24 hours of reservations opening, on the second day. Reservations opened on 5/19, your reservation is for 11:58am on 5/20.

You are number 10 on our list of 14 reservations for the Lightning.


With that are the Ford invites tied to my timestamp in the whole pool of reservations or my placement at the dealership?

Is there a way to find out were we are in those 200k reservations based on order number?

Am I better off with a low volume dealer in the situation I am in or take my semi early reservation to a large dealer?

Go to your account on Ford.com and your reservations/orders tab. post your reservation number here and we can surmise roughly where you are on the 200,000 list. I reserved toward the end of day one presentations and received 10826299, lowest reported around here was in the 1081XXXXX range I believe.

You have two things to manage with actually getting your truck. First is your reservation number as that will trigger Ford sending you a wave start notification. Next problem will be your dealer allocation. If they only get 10 trucks allocated for 2022 and you are 10 out of 14 then you get toward the end of the order timeline (probably means the other 9 were day 1 or before you day 2). If they only get 5 allocated then you are SOL, best bet is to discuss with your sales rep and the managers to use a priority pass due to your previous purchase and loyalty showing you deserve a bump in the line.

Alternative is moving your reservation to a bigger dealer that you can convince to use a priority pass and get you in the top 5/10/25 of their list.
