Admin Edit:

We've just launched SilveradoEVolution.com! ?

We extend a warm welcome to join us to discuss the newest EV pickup competition, or even just to lurk and read. ?

For those who thought you may have better luck, it looks like the Silverado is even further out than Ford's current queue.

Couple of leaks/rumors, photo below and availability:

It starts at $40k. First Edition is $105k.

First Edition launches Fall 2023. Every other trim Summer 2024.

Will see if this holds true at the reveal later Today, but it likely makes sense.

Not the biggest fan of the look, but hey, it's 1000% better than a CyberTruck.

Wow - that image just killed any interest I had in the Silverado EV - not to mention the timeline!

Those design lines look super similar to the new hummer. Looks like they borrowed quite a bit.

They're supposed to have like 350-400 range I think? So 105k for another 50-100 range... hmm I dunno if that is worth it.

Yikes, it's a bloated avalanche...

Agreed with all your points, OP.

$105k first edition? LOL
Summer 2024 - yeah I figured
$40k base - yeah right. I think Ford will have more available than GM, and even those are really limited.

Probably going to weigh 9000lbs like the Hummer for the 400mi range option (if they can even get that).

I still hold my opinion - the grass is not greener with GM on this. Change my mind :p

I actually like it and it's a lot more of a creative design than the Lightning...and I'm a Ford lover.

Not bad, by the time this comes out, Ford will be introducing the 2nd gen Lightning on its owns EV platform.

I feel like we're just a few years away from true competitive pricing.

Exactly. That's the ugliest truck I've ever seen. I'm planning on getting a F150 and one other--probably a Cybertruck. The CT looks cool at least, not like a cheap knockoff of the already-unattractive Chevy Avalanche. And the F150 looks like a normal truck...with the benefit of compatible ICE F150 accessories.

overpaid computer nerd.
I need to see more, but I actually kinda like it. However $105K is no bueno. You'd think GM would offer their value brand at a value price considering the Sierra EV is going to start with the Denali trim. If they start with a version at ~$50-60K, I think I'd consider it.

$105K sounds plausible. Mary Barra is that damn stupid.

If the picture is accurate of what is revealed today, I believe some of the Avalanche looking features behind the cab are to improve aerodynamics. The windshield is also raked back substantially from most trucks. All these would be to improve the range of pushing a brick through a wall of air with what battery size is possible. If pricing is confirmed in the reveal, I would not change my current direction to order a F-150 Lightning Lariat trim with the ER battery. Then in 3-4 years it will be time to reevaluate what vehicle is best to have going into retirement.
