Dealer informed me I am number one in line. I am hoping to get a Pro with Max Tow. So for the people interested in the Pro, what is your ideal Pro order and what is your fall back order if you cannot get a Pro. I really don't want to pay $70k plus for an XLT with an extended range battery. I am thinking a basic XLT. Input appreciated, what is the sweet spot.

Edit 1/7/22 Was able to order the Pro. No fall back was needed

I didn't see any compelling reason to get XLT.. I was thinking either PRO and either deal with the manual seats and no cruise controls/lane centering or go Lariat at around $77K.

Get a Pro if you don’t drive a lot.

If you’ve never Owned an EV please be aware that you typically charge to 80-90% on a daily basis, some charge even less depending on their driving situation.

Your range will dip below 200 miles at 100% charge during the winter, and you will see battery degradation in the first couple of years.

If Ford does what they did with the Mach-E, you should see higher range in future models with the same battery size, however the last time I checked they weee not planning on updating old models which to me is unsat

Never owned an EV. If I can get a Pro, I will just hold on to my current F150 for longer trips. Main use for the EV is to make a 75 mi. round trip 3-4 times per week.

Oh yeah you are good. Pro would be perfect.

I am still considering a Pro …. But my round trip is 140 miles Daily but with plenty of charging options in between

Agree - either Pro or Lariat trim IMO. XLT is a waste...

I am going for the Pro trim w/ some light options - manual seats are perfect as I will be the only driver.

MSRP @ $45K is a steal!

My daily drive is short - about 15 miles each way, but I need the carpool HOV exemption sticker to drive solo on the freeways during rush hour.

My work has L2 chargers so that helps if I forget to charge at home....

This SR battery will blow away my current PHEV range of 50 miles because I won't have to charge every day....

Not sure I would want to make a 140 mile a day round trip with a 200 mile battery unless you ha ve a charger at the destination. We have a shore house 102 miles from our house. When we are staying there it will be no big deal even with smaller battery. But sometimes I go down there to repair stuff when we are renting it or go down for day and go to marina and take the boat out without going to the house. In those cases I need the big battery or plan to stop on NJ parkway on way back. We dont yet have that many fast charges on the north jersey off turnpike to south jersey shore / LBI run.

Same here, I am not sure but is the Charger included with the ER battery? If not then I will but an adaptor for my current Tesla Charger and use that. What I might need to do is add more solar panels.

Correct. In the winter, you wouldn’t make it. Below freezing, you’ll lose roughly 1/3 of your range.

As someone in the same boat in Wave 1, with the pick of the litter for trims, I'm now leaning towards Lariat with ER.

- The Chevy announcement today proves we're just under about 2 YEARS out from getting a non-launch edition Silverado (Fall 2023 estimate), with unknown pricing on what the 400 mile trims (definitely not the 40k one)

- $105k for the top trim, but 400 miles. No federal tax, lower Colorado state tax credit

- The Lariat ER comes out to 70k for me in Colorado, pre-tax ($7500 + $2500 state). This is $3k more than an ICE identical equipped Lariat premium PB

- If you go pro, you're stuck with that for at least 2 years, assuming you'd even want the Chevy. I think the Lightning is way nicer looking

- People are hallucinating if they think car prices are going down, or even that the 400 mile work truck will be anywhere near 50k. The 40k figure from Chevy is from a yet-undisclosed work truck trim with unknown standard range miles, at a future delivery date (2024+)

So if you're going to USE the thing, get the trim you want to live in, and with the tax breaks + the timeline of competitors + not even all Lightning orders will be fulfilled in 2 years, and you'll STILL likely get good resale value then.

Lastly, this is my 3rd EV (Leaf --> Model 3 --> Lightning). I just drove 140 miles (75 each way) new year's eve, leaving with 100% trip charge, I got to my destination with 55% battery. I then got stuck 2 miles away for 3 hours after someone wrecked, and it drained my battery to like 48%.

My point is if you're doing the math, I lost roughly HALF my range going up the mountain from the foothills in Colorado at roughly 30 degrees, and the Tesla is more efficient. If you're going to NEVER drive more than 100 miles in the winter, then the standard range is fine

Do we know what the earliest time stamp for reservations was? Mine was 7:01PST May 19. I am wondering if it will go by time stamps or where you are per dealer. Hoping for wave 1!

Ask your dealer, they know if you're in Wave 1 or not, but probably don't know which wave if you didn't get that 1st slot

My dealer doesn't know which wave, he just told me. I am #8 of 600+ in cali.. Pretty sure I am in the first 1000 to order at the reveal, but not sure. Hopefully wave 2 if only one actually goes out to each dealer for the first
