How will you pay for your Lightning?

Regardless of what happens, in the end... hopefully all of us on the list will get a Lightning (yes I am being hopeful).

When you are at the dealer, about the sign on the line... how will you pay?

I haven't decided yet and want to hear more about the new Ford Options program with actual numbers.

Same here. It'll either be better with my credit union (PenFed) or Ford. Balloon financing doesn't fit me at all, neither does leasing.

I'm just hoping I get to buy a MY22 but I'm pretty confident I'll at least get one by the beginning of MY23 and take delivery Q3-4. Reservations within the first 12 hours im #10 at my dealer.

If it's anything like the MME, I don't see why everyone wouldn't use Ford Options. Get an extra amount off, then refinance out of/pay off if you want.

Keep in mind that we don't know when the model year switchover will be for the Lightning. For the Mach-e they kept building 2021 models right through December and many are still being delivered (and they won't finish delivering 2021's until at least February.

Ford Options offers the best of both (lease terms but finance balloon option w/ tax credit)

I am also looking possibly including this into my business and doing a non PG Ford Commercial lease without the tax credit.

SInce it's a first year new model, I usually lease cars to find out if it's worth keeping at the end.
Sort of a try her for a few years before you settle down...

Of all the cars I have leased (8), ended up with only 2 that were keepers:

Agreed on what the playbook said - but the Mach-e builds had the same plan. the changeover was pushed back over 2 months.

Ford Options, get all rebates possible (State, throw tax return at it, Ford Options?) and then finance the loan with DCU for 1.24% for 72 months.

I believe that's what the Wave Ordering process is hoping to avoid. They are matching orders to specific build capacity hoping to avoid the MME issues.

So I just thought of something... what if you order your vehicle, and when you go pick it up you are denied for financing and you have no one else besides your spouse to help you out with the credit application.
