At the entry-level, the 2022 F-150 Lightning Pro has a 36-month residual value with Ford Options Plan of 55% based on a 10,500-mile-per-year contract. Unlike a lease, Ford Options Plan is a balloon financing offer promising more flexibility and the ability to apply for a $7,500 EV tax credit to get the best deal possible. Higher-end F-150 Lightning residual values with Ford Options Plan are 53% for the XLT, 50% for the Lariat, and 48% for the Platinum trim.

Thanks! So payments would be ((100%-residual %) x sale price x interest factor) / term months? And purchase amount at end of term would be residual % x sale price?

Tundra. Model Y and Lightning on order
I’m assuming 5P means extended range? Curious about the price as well.

Options Plan pricing has not been released yet but stay tuned. We'll have it as soon as it's released.

Close - you need to add in taxes and fees and subtract out any down payment and trade in value. But besides that yes.

FWIW, Ford options seems like a really decent deal. Cheaper payment than financing with little risk. At the end of 36-48months..if the true value of the vehicle is higher you just buy it(balloon payment) and then sell it. If residual estimates are too high and/or the market tanks for some reason.....you can trade it in for more than it would be worth on a typical trade in//private sale.

Of course if you like it you can just buy it. Again gives you options with little risk.

Any idea what the interest factor/rate would be like?

Im guessing with all the talk of interest rate hikes this year, the interest rate is going to be changing every month in the upwards direction. Of course it would be nice to know what the base they start out with.

Good point, if interest rates get too high, I'd probably buy the truck outright as I really hate paying interest :) will have to see what it is and if I will tolerate it..

When it comes time to talk financing with the dealer, do we have anything to negotiate? I mean there probably won't be any incentives available. They aren't going to go any lower than MSRP and if you don't want to pay that I'm sure they will say the next person up will gladly pay it. So the only thing we have to decide is, what finance program we want to do or pay cash, numbers of years to finance and miles?

It looks like Options residuals for MME got bumped up over last year's. If I remember correctly it was:

And interest applies to both payments and balloon. Also down payment together with trade-in is limited to 30% of cash price. So if you have a high value trade-in, it may be better to sell it separately,
