I disagree. We don't know the price of the SR battery, but the Lariat with no battery would have to be worth less than $37,500 for the ER battery to be a better value.

The math: for the extra $10k you pay for the ER, you get 33.7% more battery (131 kWh vs 98 kWh), which translates to a cost of $30k for SR battery by itself (if the value proposition is the same for ER vs SR). Which leaves the rest of the vehicle valued at $37,500 (since the base Lariat costs $67,500). For the ER to be a better value, you're saying that a Lariat minus the battery is worth less than $37,500, which doesn't seem reasonable to me.

Additionally, the battery is a part that will wear out and need to be replaced in say 10 years. I ordered the Lariat SR so that I could put that $10k towards a replacement battery when the time comes. Ideally battery costs will come down in 10 years.
You get a lot of other options for that $10k beyond jus the battery. The moon roof alone is over a grand of the cost.

You get more than a bigger battery. You also get:

  • Ford Co-Pilot360™ Active 2.0 with Ford BlueCruise and Phone as A Key
  • Tow Technology Package
  • Twin Panel Moonroof
  • 80-Amp Ford Charge Station Pro
  • Partitioned Lockable Fold-Flat Rear Storage
  • Power Tilt/Telescoping Steering Column With Memory
  • Second-Row Heated Seats

The Bluecruise is priced at $1800 on the gas model. The charger alone would probably be close to $1000 by itself. The lockable storage is about $300. The moonroof is $1400. The tow technology package is about $800. The memory steering column and second row heated seats are included on the High package, so it's difficult to put a price on them.

1800
1000
1400
800
300
-----
5300

So you get all that and the extended battery costs about $4500. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Good point, I was just considering the cost of the ER battery alone ($10k additional) vs the Lariat Plus package (which is $12k total and includes moonroof, phone as key, and hands free driving).

A smart 80 amp charger with V2H capability is going to be worth a lot more than $1000--which makes the Lariat ER value proposition even better.

I can't wait to troll the Silverado EV forums when they release pricing and get 301 mile range

Got the call earlier this week from my dealer that I was in Wave 4. Got email at 12:01pm local time. Smoked Quartz, Lariat ER, spray in bed liner. Boom, done. Within 30 minutes dealer had finalized order.

Not sure I agree…the 80amp charger will work for a limited number of people - you need a 400A panel, that upgrade alone would chew up quite a bit of $$$

I don’t know in the US, but for us Canadians…an upgrade to 400A would be quite the expense, the panel alone is $1.5k…I got a quote for $8k to upgrade and install the 80mps charger….

I bet ford will increases pricing across the board for MY2023 instead of decreasing anything
With the price of everything else in this country out of control, this time next year the Prices for 2022's will look cheap.

the 80 amp charger is de-ratable, you can downgrade it to any amperage you have available in you panel so you don't have to spend a fortune upgrading your electrical.

You don't need 400A. I'm installing it in a 200A panel.

Which dealer? I’m a first couple minute reservation holder that transferred from Granger the other day to one here in CO since Granger’s received only 2 so far. Nothing for me for wave 4. Not looking very promising.…

Hi! I joined today as I’ve been reading everyone’s posts with great interest and finally received my golden ticket for a wave 4 order. So I’ve decided to join the club and keep every informed on my progress. Now as an early reservation holder time stamped email 5 minutes after ordering went live on 5/19 I was for sure thinking that I would have got mine sooner… lol but soon learned that this process was not solely about being an early reservation holder! Anyway I didn’t think I was going to get one this year but here I am and I feel lucky now. I’ve ordered an F-150 Lightning Lariat Antimatter Blue with ER battery. I wanted a Platinum but just couldn’t see where the cost difference between a Lariat and Platinum made sense. The only main differences I can see are the upgraded towing package which I added, the nicer leather massaging motion seats, the front Vador grille and the 22 inch wheels. Please let me know if I’m missing something as I’d be paying about $13k more for just that stuff. Cheers!
