How long before I have to take delivery?

I'm thinking since my online order doesn't show a ADM and the dealer is saying they will probably be adding a 5k to 10k ADM. If they do could tell them I will be filing a complaint with the State Attorney General for bait and switch along with my local news station that likes doing investigations with things like this. I have no problem dragging this out for a bit but don't know if there is a time limit that you have to take delivery.

When you completed your order you signed a binding contract for the price excluding tax and fees.

This is why people were advising to not place an order if the page before approval said there was an ADM “dealer additional cost” and your dealer said there would not be one.

Start with dealer and explain that you both understand Ford is starting to take action against dealerships that play games. Ford is clearly going to pay attention to customer experience with the Lightning.

I truly believe this is a dealer trying to get you to sign a new price agreement.

Stay strong contract law is on your side.

They had a chance to put ADM in a line item on the order form screen BEFORE you made the final commitment and paid the additional deposit amount. They are locked in - do not let them tell you otherwise. As to time for delivery - I will be overseas for two months this summer and anticipate that my Platinum Lightning will arrive early after leaving for Heidelberg. I discussed this with my dealer contact, who says they will be happy to keep it until I return. My only request is that if on the showroom floor as a mannequin for a few weeks, it be put behind velvet ropes. .

My experience with my last Tesla delivery was the opposite - the ordered MX came in early and I was sailing in the Atlantic routing from Key West to the Chesapeake Bay, two days from nearest land, and was given a three-day pickup window three days from then, by sat phone. There was zero flexibility, no recourse, the car would be given to another customer. I had to turn toward land, come ashore in South Carolina, leave my crew, rent a car, drive to Owings Mills, MD, take delivery, pick up my wife in Virginia, and drive back to South Carolina to head back out to sea. The car was worth it, but one more awful Tesla customer experience, with no apology or even acknowledgement of inconvenience/expense. Dealerships do provide some advantages. Tesla's customer service and order/delivery process can be beyond maddening.

I got the wave 3 invite and did the order online and it showed no ADM on Feb 3. Showed up on my Ford account that they accepted it. I called them 3 times right after ordering to see if I needed to do anything else with no response. Then they called me a few days ago saying they needed another 500 and they would just now be placing the order more then a month after I thought it had been done. They gave me some BS about the ordering banks just now being opened. They said not sure yet but 5k to 10k ADM fee would be coming. Told them I already payed the deposit and after some heated words said they would waive the 500 gee thanks. Called Ford but just alot of dancing around with them saying not much they could do. This is why if they are going to want the ADM which I'm sure they will I'll make a huge public issue about it. Which sure will delay me taking delivery right away.

If you have Twitter, tweet Levine and Farley. Post pics of your contract, tweet the dealer also, dealer General Manager etc.

This is not the dealers allocation, Levine will find a dealer for you and move your delivery there.
