I reserved at 11:30 pm night of reveal, after the wife went to bed. I didn’t do anything special other than to be a loyal customer for the past 17 years. I talked to the salesman once early on and he was clueless.
However, I believe invitation to order should have most certainly been first come first served. Also, should have been limited to one order per customer.
That being said, when the dealer called and asked me to jump my answer was “How high?”
Nobody is going to turn down an opportunity to order because it might not be fair for others. My dealership said they weren't prioritizing anyone because they felt that was the only way to keep those first 25 spots fair. I asked to be prioritized, but accepted their answer and respected it. I then settled in to watch the show for the next year or two.

When I learned that there was going to be a wave 7 and it was for unfilled allocations at the dealerships that had a reservationist not make an order or push it out to the following model year, I started texting my salesman. They had a pretty short window of time to find a customer who wanted a Lariat trim and had a reservation with them. An email to every reservation on the dealer's list was going to result in 1 happy person and many upset people who weren't going to be fast enough with their responses. Not to mention the confusion it would cause every person not familiar with the ordering process. One email at a time was going to take days if people took too long to respond due to any circumstance that prevents them from checking email throughout the day. It turns out that my proactive efforts were going to save them a lot of work and heartache. So I was selected as a wave 7 customer.

I agree that first come first served is the most fair way, but it's incredibly difficult with the dealership model. Not to mention abandoned reservations (not orders), allocation promises to dealerships (if a reservation isn't made, should they lose that opportunity if the next person on the list reserved in a different state/dealer?), limited manufacturing capacity that Ford wants to max out, and influencers/famous people they want to be seen in their trucks.

I was more than ready to make the most of any opportunity that presented itself to me. It appears like many others in our build week might have done the same. Or like you, were rewarded for past loyalty and relationships. Either way, congratulations. It feels good to be rewarded.

I didn't do anything really special to get in the wave 7. I put my reservation in the day of the announcement, towards the evening. Every once in a while I checked in with the dealer and at one point he told me that I am next in line but that there are only ER Lariats available. That was what I wanted anyways, so it was a go at that point. Invite to order was in my inbox a few days later.

At this point I am micro-tracking the movements thought the production line. That's the first car I ever custom ordered at a dealer, so there's a ton I learned already! And this forum is a big part of that! So thank to everyone who did/is sharing their knowledge and progress!

I was just looking at the reported information for our build week and I noticed that only 4 of us who have reported our information for @TaxmanHog 's spreadsheet were day 1 reservation holders. Contratulations to those of you who were prioritized by your dealers or had a dealer with no early orders. To the rest, congratulations for being the fastest to let your dealership know that you're interested in getting one of those Lariats that were available for wave 7.

I didn't compare to other weeks, but it feels like our build week is filled with people who did the extra leg work to get a truck order after their reservations might not have been the earliest ones. 💪💪
Wave 7 order, and I was the first order my dealer put in to Ford from that wave. At this point, I just want the truck by mid-October. My hopes of a late September delivery seem to be fading.

Hi All, it has taken some time this morning to figure out the magic "853". My confusion is that my window sticker shows me at 320/405 and a blend date of 20220827. I do see that some of you are xxx/853. (Big thanks for you guys posting VIN) I do have the spray in liner, but does that put you in a totally special group?

I wasn't clear in my question....where do you think the build team is in reference to the 853 vehicles? Are they on number 230? 450? Thanks @TaxmanHog

So I am 323/405 with a spray in liner. My first window sticker on 8/10 showed me at 166/853 but that changed the next day to the current 323/405. My assumption is that 405 of that 853 have spray in liners or some other off line work that needs to be completed.
My blend day was the 23rd, my 'mods popped' Friday morning around 9am, and my status changed to 'In Production 08/26/2022' yesterday. There is not a Tear Tag yet.

This is really hard to know since we don’t have everyone on the tracker. Your lower number is due to spray in liner, and that doesn’t mean every one of the 405 is spray in liner, just something done off the assembly line is required. I will say that I was 73/403 (spray in liner) for the 8/15 week, had an 8/18 blend, mods popped the following Monday, tear tag next day, and then this past Thursday or Friday they told me the truck is already on Ramp 51 awaiting departure and has a current delivery eta to MD on 9/4 (I expect that to change though)

@ddbrooke and @SteelTerp87 thanks for information, it is very helpful information, i know we're all tired of waiting for such an awesome truck! I'll try to sit on my hands for a few days, but it sure is hard not to constantly look for a status change.

@FordEVTruck, I think what i'm hearing is we don't know what number the production line is on for 22-Aug Week. We do know we started the week behind and i'm going to guess while they tried their best to catch up, we still might be a little behind. I'm hoping i got blended yesterday but next few days will tell. @TaxmanHog please correct me if i'm wrong here.

Yea, I’m chatting everyday with Ford. It’s easy enough to get an answer from them whereas the dealer can get annoyed and I don’t like to point out their incompetence that often haha

Made a quick chart to visualize the delay we are seeing from Blend to Production. At the beginning of August status changed the same day, now we are consistently seeing 4 days.

Let's see if the number will come down over the next few days.
