Please lord - the world did not need to know that panel came off that easy.

My gut tells me already that many of us will get to buy several of those and Ford will have to come up with some sort of lock or more permanent mounting. That has to be about the most stupid idea I've ever seen - a panel snapping out that easy that is a major part of the fender.
I’ve been looking….and, can’t for the life of me find the part number……… for either side……

There is a sticker on the back with I guess a part number and “barcode”. Can’t read all the number. I’ll pop it off again tomorrow and post. Ford has the Maverick 3D files online and available for aftermarket accessorizors (sp?) but I can’t find the Lightning. There’s Ford guys from my 7/11 build week on here I’ve asked for assistance. They may be traveling in their new trucks and MIA for a few days.

Yeah, I was thinking to flip the design of the driver’s side port hing assembly as a potential design…not sure how complex it would be to print and assemble though…..🤔

A 3d scan would make it a whole lot easier, but it is certainly not necessary... I'm quite an accomplished modeler! It would take a few iterations to get it to work well and fit well. There are some design issues that 3d printing comes with that injection molded plastic doesn't have to deal with. I wouldn't get my hopes up too high for a huge, deep compartment though.
Here is the part number from one of the Ford guys on 7/11.
“They are molded in color so each color has its own part number.
The basic part number should be 16720. It will be NL3Z-16720-XX with the XX part changing based on the color.”

I am asking if available and cost. Thanks.

I have a magical ability to drain undrainable batteries so I need some help.
aside from jumping, might be nice to also be able to disconnect the 12v for reboots when/if the frunk is either unresponsive or instead drunk is full of cargo (making it a pain to access the 12v panel)

Everyone on here knows there’s a removable panel on the top fender of the passenger side inside the drink that has terminals for jumping, right? And you can get in the frunk with loss of power by pulling the manual release in the driver footwell? I think this is a lot of trouble for something that will hopefully rarely be used and is already provided. I think a better use for that spot would be storing a retractable hose for an air compressor

So is there a part number for a hinged version for right-hand drive Lightnings? Assuming they put the charging port on the right side for those countries?

No. Because there are no provisions to make a right hand fender with the reinforcement bracket to mount the charge port.

Sure, but it is nice to not have to open the frunk/vehicle to charge something like that, particularly those that park outside. I keep a battery tender on one of my cars, and have a plug hidden inside the front grill for exactly that reason (it gets parked inside though).

I don't think there IS a RHD Lightning yet, is there?

I was thinking to wait for one of those!

Great of you to impart your wisdom!

Meanwhile, if I’m on a road trip with 3 toddlers and have the frunk packed with stuff I’d rather not unload on the side of a freeway in the event of a 12v related issue, I’ll think especially if you and you’re tireless pursuit of helping others.

Geez, the handful of folks here that have experienced frunk failures where the manual release was useless should have just instead thought of your helpful advice and willed it open!

[NOTE: I take snarky comments as invitation to snarky responses]

That said, I like the idea of a compressor in the frunk and the hose deployed from RG port!

FYI, you don't need to remove anything from the frunk to jump your truck. They placed a positive terminal under the shroud on the passenger side between the frunk opening and the fender that is easily removable.

I'd like to see a slot for a bluetooth speaker, a flashlight, air compressor outlet and a 120v outlet.

Call it the mega power cubby.

I plan on retrofitting a gas nozzle and hiding a small 1 gallon gas container in there. I don’t need the gas, I just want to end up all over the internet for putting gas into my F-150L.
