The hood of my truck when parked is under a large shelf when in the garage. A 12V failure would be problematic. In my previous truck I could use the key to put it in neutral and push it back to get a battery charger on it. A port out the right side would be great.

FYI, you don't need to remove anything from the frunk to jump your truck. They placed a positive terminal under the shroud on the passenger side between the frunk opening and the fender that is easily removable.
Appreciate the info.

aside from jumping, might be nice to also be able to disconnect the 12v for reboots when/if the frunk is either unresponsive or instead [frunk] is full of cargo (making it a pain to access the 12v panel)
Does the panel you mention allow you to disconnect the 12v, or it’s only a jump-post?

This may seem/sound stupid but why might I need to jump start an EV? (Please be kind; I really don’t understand.)

If you have issues with your small battery the truck may not turn on, drive, or even be able to put into the neutral/tow mode.

There could also be issues with charging. If the 12 v battery goes dead the HV battery won't charge. Everything in the EV runs off of the 12v battery other than the drive motors themselves. So it is still a critical part of the equation.

Thank you for explaining that to me!
Is there an alternator that keeps it charged or is it charged as part of the main charging?

No spinning devices like an alternator. It is all done through electronics from the HV battery. The computer tells the truck it needs to charge. Contactors close and electronics step the voltage down and charge the LV battery. This can happen whether the truck is being driven or if it is sitting parked.

Thanks again for educating me. This is so different than what I’ve known for the past 45+ years. My first car was a 72 Pontiac Catalina that ran on Regular Leaded gas!

I have my Bronco setup in FordPass to alert me by phone notification every time the door is opened. I also have an airtag mounted in the truck. If you are doing the airtag be sure to place it above the window line, range is significantly limited if it’s mounted where the signal has to pass through metal rather than glass. The C pillar above the window will be a good location for the Lightning. I use these Pelican mounts for the airtags.

Might be a great place to hide an AirTag for personal vehicle tracking, since Ford doesn't/won't do it.
