One of the options not on the Pro trim is heated seats. Here in MN, those seem like a must. Anybody find any info on dealer-added or adding Factory Ford heated seat elements and controls?

I'm hearing conflicting stories about this. Some people say they're only eliminating the heated steering wheel option.

Eliminating heated seats as an option doesn't make sense. On an EV, it's not just a random luxury option that can be removed. Heating a massive cabin in the winter eats a lot of power, and Ford's own display tells people in the winter to consider using the heated seats and steering wheel as their main source of heat.

From what I know heating the seat and steering wheel uses a lot less power because those systems were designed to run off the old 12 volt systems.

MY23 Pro is coming with heated seats. Ford now has to include it or they will have to revise range on all SR trims (range is 240mi for all SR excluding MY22 Pros).

If you have a MY22 Pro, then you are SOL and have the lowest range of any Ford Lightning trim (230mi). If you want to add heated seats the cheapest option is integrated seat covers or a pad. I don't think you can add it on after the fact.

I am looking to take delivery on a 2022, Pro. For the price difference (even with market adjust) and the tax credit, I can spend some coin on upgrading the seats.

Gotcha, I'm one of the few lucky ones that gets your price on a MY23.

Good luck on upgrading seats! I don't think there is a way to have it integrated (in the SYNC system) after the fact.

If I keep my Pro I’m looking into Katzkin leather all around with heated/cooled seats up front. About 3k including the center console. Spendy but still a load cheaper than the XLT!

As far as factory controls I saw someone replace the hvac controls in a pro to get the temperature numbers lit up on the two dials. For about $360 you can get the heated seat and steering wheel version of the controls panel. Might be as easy as that without the Sync integration. 🤷‍♂️

Aftermarket seat heaters will cost about $100 plus install. I’ll be adding some on my 2022 Pro in the next month or so. I haven’t looked at how the seat covers come off to determine if I’ll do the install myself or pay an upholstery shop. If they use hog rings I may pay for the install.

I’d be interested in swapping in some power seats, but I can’t seem to find anything for less than $1000 per seat. If I could swap in a power seat and the heated elements could work with a new climate control module and forscan programming I’d be willing to try that install.

I have added heated seats to a few cars now, its not all that hard. I have picked up the kits for $50, and installed them myself. The first time it took me a few hours, the times after that, about an hour.

Like others have said, you can add them after the fact for a fairly low price if you don't have them already.

The Ford dealer That I purchased from also does customizations and said it would be about $4000 to add leather and heated seats. I don't remember the price for just heated seats but they could do it in house. I may have posted about this about a month and a half ago with exact pricing but too lazy to check right now. So check with your dealer if they can do it in house. Better to get it done there and have a warranty through them rather than a third party that pay mess something up with the electrical system and possibly void your Ford warranty.

I think the tricky part here is getting them integrated, might be wrong, but I think that is what the OP is looking for.

Very interested to see what you guys do on this. Only a few things on my Pro I’d throw cash at, upgraded seating being one.

The local dealer isn’t going to provide any tangible warranty on aftermarket parts they add, but they might be willing to sweep problems under the rug with respect to the Ford warranty later.

If the seat heaters draw less than 10 amps I can’t see any problems pulling seat heaters power from one of the 12v cigarette lighter sockets, shouldn’t be any warranty issue there. The real warranty issue is with the seat mounted airbags after you pull the covers.

I don't need integrated. From some of the stories on here about the unreliability of the software resulting in rogue heated seats, it might be better off with it NOT integrated.
I am happy with a hardwired switch sticking out of the side of the seat or the dash or where ever there is a good place to mount it.

What products is everyone looking at?

From this video it appears that the challenging part will be working around the full-width locking channels.

Most aftermarket heaters recommend you leave about 1.5” width on either side, which may not work with the channels?

Ford sells the heating pads for a reasonable price, but I don’t know if the supporting wiring or software is there to enable them, or if they are compatible with generic wiring options?

Honestly that isn't bad... but you are right, would the pro/XLT without heated seats support it?

I saw an install for a heated/ventilated seat system that I thought looked neat and cost ~$400 I think.
