Hello everyone,

All systems are a go and we will be doing the trip with the electric plane and Lightnings this Sunday the 13th! (originally planned for Saturday, but weather has forced us to delay by one day)

I would like to invite you all to come to one (or more) of our meetups this coming weekend.

We will be hosting three meetups with electric vehicle owners and local sustainability groups:

Waterbury-Oxford Airport, CT (ETA: 6:15 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.)

Danbury Municipal Airport, CT (ETA: 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.)

Greenwood Lake Airport, NJ (ETA: 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.).

We'll be live tweeting the trip @LafGetsElectric so stay tuned there for updates on arrival and departure times as we travel from CT to PA!

You can read more about Lafayette Gets Electric in Electrek (https://electrek.co/2022/11/04/ford-lightning-powers-first-ev-recharged-electric-plane-flight/)

and the Australian publication The Driven (https://thedriven.io/2022/11/07/us-...-to-charge-his-electric-plane-in-world-first/).

We are really excited for these meetups and would love to get your help in spreading the word out to anyone who you think might be interested!

The trip was a success! There were a few delays for weather and some mechanical issues with the helicopter that was carrying the film crew, but the electric plane, the Lightnings, and Remy’s support team did a great job! The flyover of the football game will be this weekend (weather permitting), and then the plane will return to CT with the help of the Lightnings early next week.

It was an awesome adventure!

What a great group of people, from Remy and his family, friends and Lafayette College crew making aviation history to the fellow Lightning gang that joined in, to Phil the expert pilot handling some incredibly challenging landings from small airport tarmacs to farms fields, plus Lindsey at the Hartford Jet Center with his helicopter film crew documenting the day, and all the other folks involved in making this day happen + the people who came out to see the event along the way……

Huge congrats and thanks to Remy- an amazing leader with a force of will to get this done - he’s “Lightning in a bottle” brimming with energy, curiosity and resolve. Huge kudos all around!

Out of spec Dave did a terrific video on it all:

And Jim Farley even weighed in with a retweet from Paul at TinkerTry.com who covered the event:
