Yeah, this makes it sound like it's sitting in a parking lot at Rouge waiting for Vehi-Ship to pick it up and take it to wherever it goes next, be it the rail yard or otherwise.

Is Vehi-ship who trucks the vehicles around? Has anyone tried calling them yet? Because I think they have lost visibility on the trucks as previously mentioned and they eventually get where they need to go then get a status update. How could my truck possibly be scheduled arrive at the dealer this Monday at the latest yet it hasn't left the parking lot. Maybe it's because I'm used to 100% traceability to everything but it seems ridiculous they aren't lined up in order and just grabbed and shipped. I want to get this hurdle solved so I can go back to figuring out how to get the correct price from the dealer.

Vehi-Ship does the short-haul delivery from the truck factory to the next shipper, which is almost universally rail unless you're talking about a delivery within maybe a 2-hour radius where the rail route wouldn't make any sense. I don't know what the max range is for Vehi-Ship's work with Ford, but I know they're the ones handling getting any truck to the rail yard if it's got any rail travel to do.

did a ford chat and got this.

"shows In Transit-Shipped Convoy - Convoy # xxxxxx (Vehi-ship Llc )-Ramp 51, Flat Rock, MI. The ETA is not currently available."

Can anyone translate that lol. I thought i have read ramp 51 was a black hole?

Bummer. I know the feeling. A day after my truck arrived the dealer told me there was a defect in the paint below the clearcoat so it needed to go to the bodyshop. Since I am 4 hours away and the blemish was small they agreed to schedule closing and delivery now and I can get it fixed locally under warranty. Hopefully taking delivery tomorrow and the paperwork was already done online.

I almost cryed when they said 4 to 6 weeks to get in to bodyshop...

Fingers crossed it is something small.

Well it's not... large tree branch took it out while within a mile of the dealer ship on the transport truck. It looks like a baseball hit the front windshield. The the roof looks shredded with tree branches having dug in. Went straight to body shop where they're thinking some structural roof damage and beam damage since you can see the roof caved in from the inside.

Estimate 6-8 months, doing a full tear down tomorrow.

To stay positive, and for the forum members, azure gray tri coat looks sick.

Will do long write up later. Want to say thanks to this forum, the process was great and I really enjoyed all the information and deep diving to figure out exactly where our trucks were. Religiously checked this thread until today but looks like I won't be getting a lightning.

That’s really sad, for you and the truck. Possibly for the transport driver as well. Hope it gets repaired faster than estimated.

Just a note for those checking semi-regularly with Ford Chat. This AM my status was handed over to BNSF at the Chicago rail yard at around 10AM. At 2:30 Dealer texted it was in Colorado. So don’t worry so much if you are still waiting for BNSF/UP in Chicago

Thanks Tim, that’s exactly what I was hoping. My status is still Riverside, IL, but I’m hoping it’s just making the trek to Oregon but hasn’t arrived yet so there’s no status update

Yeah man while I'm pissed, I also have to appreciate it from the outside.

Apparently the transport driver was in tears cause his boss says he's gonna get fired and "pay for this". There's no way that's true I hope

The other car damaged on the convoy was the GM of the dealership's truck - his made it out a lot better though with just a few scratches and minimal work needed.

Ford corporate was made aware and I'm lobbying for a priority build spot but such a high lost opportunity cost at this point:
- Likely won't get to use the 2.75% 60 month loan I was approved for
- No taking advantage of the last tax EV credit (don't qualify for 2023)
- Already sold my car in anticipation of this - not sure but might have to get another lease or buy another car. For a month, my wife and I had rearranged our schedules to make being a 1 car household work. Now that won't work
- Won't get to tailgate my favorite football team's games in this, also have to buy a generator now for our tailgates
- Dealer loses a unit, my salesman was counting on this as one of his units for monthly bonus
- Transporter may lose his job

All around this just sucks.

Man, this is such an absolute bummer. It would be great if you could get the dealer to let you buy the truck and then swap it, that way you'd get your tax rebate and at least have something to drive while waiting on the body shop. It's not like it's undriveable if they can swap windshields, right? This is just so painful... you were 99.9% of the way to having a Lightning and then a freak accident... I'm sorry, man.

Well this is a little odd. I asked chat for an updated status (since it shows Shipped with no estimated delivery) and they gave me rail information (window sticker says Convoy btw)

It looks like your Ford 2023 F-150 is in Transit. Latest update is that it went through Flat Rock, MI . It's on Railcar # TTGX697### (Canadian National Railways ).

I found the number to call and how to enter the railcar number, but it says it is empty and released by customer in Portland, Oregon on 9/7/22 (at 7:50 AM). So did chat give me the wrong number, or how does my Lightning get from MI to TX via OR?
