Heading into Watsonville Ford to do paperwork now. Hoping all goes well with pricing.
Curious about this as well. Is it just to get a head start on things or for the tax rebate? Everything I’ve read on here indicates that you have to take delivery of vehicle by end of year for the rebate. My husband wanted to do the same thing and see if our dealer would process in advance for the rebate but I told him it wouldn’t make a difference. Let us know if you get an update on the delivery or rail car info. I’m trying to get that info from my dealer.

I spoke with my CPA directly yesterday afternoon about this (filling out paperwork pre truck arrival in 2022) as my dealer indicated that they could do most of everything prior to the truck arriving such as a bill of sale to help me get the tax credit. He was very clear to me that he could tell me what "the rule is" and that is that the truck has to be taken delivery of by 2022. But he did seem to indicate that some people have tried to fake paperwork before. I asked him what paperwork he has seen the IRS ask for when questioning his clients over the years about this credit and he said everything down to loan paperwork and registration, which can not be done until the truck has arrived.

So while I am sure that you could have the dealer bend/fake some paperwork to look like you bought the truck sooner, it also seems like it would be fairly likely you would get caught in the mess and that's a risk I personally will not be taking.

It definitely was not the response I was hoping for, but I still have a very small glimpse of hope for it getting here in 2022, aka today or tomorrow.

Thank you, Casey. You have confirmed what most on here have been saying. I personally am not interested into getting to know the IRS any more than I have to so we will play by the rules and just be happy to have our truck. The $7500 would have been nice but 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I'm sure it's in the dealers best interest to have the vehicle show as "Sold" in their inventory reports by the end of the month/year which is why they're trying to get you to jump.

My 12/12 was just marked as shipped. Ford says on Ramp 51 with delivery of 1/5-1/11. They gave me the convoy number as well. Exciting times.
Believe it will move by rail then truck. I’m in NJ and it show it’s being rail to PA then United road will move it over the road to NJ dealership.

I think its convoy (*edit* via Vehi-Ship) to the train yard > rail to the last train yard > convoy to the dealer.

I was given a trucking company tracker first, then a train number (Norfolk Southern), and then united road has a plan in place for last mile

What the first trucking company Vehi-Ship by chance? I just got off of chat with Ford and they gave me a convoy number for that company, but a quick Google showed a job hiring link for drivers to move new vehicles. So I assume that is where my truck is at. She did note that was as of 12/28. But yesterday chat had told me a chip shortage, so who knows at this point.

No worries, we're you able to find a way to use the number they gave you to track it in anyway?
nah its only a short trip. they drop it off at the station it seems then it hops on a train. the next day i think i got a train number. i have been posting in 12/05 my train travels so far. i call every few hours lol.

i also used "united road" to see if they have a plan in place for the last mile and they do. dont think it works for everyone. here is a good write up: United Road Logistics - FAQ | Bronco6G - 2021+ Ford Bronco & Bronco Raptor Forum, News, Blog & Owners Community

Good to know, it seems if you call every hour, you are likely to get a completely different response each time based on what I've seen. But I must have seen your post in the other build group last night as I stalked back to see how previous week's delivery are coming along. I tried to set up an account with united road and got this email back from them this morning

"

Our tracking services are reserved for our dealers. If you have questions about the shipment of your vehicle, please contact the dealership you bought it from.

Thank you,"

I got the same message. We must not be doing something right when registering. LMK if you figure it out.
