The dealership needs to clean, top off the charge, etc.

You should always pick up a new car in the daytime anyway. That way you can check the paint over before driving off the lot.

They were talking Monday pickup. I would definitely pick it up with enough daytime to work with. Any other tips for taking delivery is appreciated. I am totally new at this. All my cars have been use (bought at auction or private party)

Take it for a drive before you buy it. If something needs to be fixed, you want that done before your warranty clock starts running. (Especially in this age of potentially long repairs due to parts shortages.)

When checking the paint, look at the edges of panels, and any exposed interior metal (e.g., door corners) too. Certain other makes are prone to paint adhesion problems at edges of aluminum panels.

Check the glass, too.

Check for moisture in the lights.

Mine has changed too. Not sure if they download the latest at the dealership. Did you pick up yours or dealer is still working on it. Mine said they will have to check and detail it when it arrives. I am not sure how much detailing a brand new truck needs.

To All: Anyone that did order mobile charger, please let us know if you got one with your truck anyway.

I explicitly told my dealer not to prep/detail the truck and not to drill in the front bumper for the license plate mount. Hopefully they listen! I'll clay bar it when I get it home.

Yes.

My wife's CRV had a hose drug across the hood when they were washing it with 4 miles on the clock, scratched the crap out of it. Unfortunately I didn't notice until after we took delivery, luckily it buffed out.

My Golf R was perfect for years, they didn't wash at delivery either, until one time I was getting the oil changed at the dealer and the service guy forgot to put the "Do Not Wash" placard on the dash and they swirled the whole darn car. I have paint trust issues now.

Definitely will! I plan to have them call CS with me if it’s not there. I called CS last week and they still sware it comes with it. I told them it was an option I unchecked, and he asked his manager lol.

I did the same with the license plate! They claim their detail guys are really good .
Also, tell them not to put their badge on it !!!!!

I told my dealer the same...and they washed the truck and installed the front license plate bracket anyways. lol. My dingus salesman had the nerve to tell me the truck comes from the factory with the bracket installed...ok buddy.

Obviously I bought the truck anyways.

I told my dealer the same...and they washed the truck and installed the front license plate bracket anyways. lol. My dingus salesman had the nerve to tell me the truck comes from the factory with the bracket installed...ok buddy.

Obviously I bought the truck anyways.

Haha dude I did the same! I’ll have my dealer call their rep when I am there or I will have them call “FMCDealer and select Dealers Ask Ford - Business Assistance Center” (this is from the last price list sheet).

I made a version like you did but I also made a very generic one that only has the info the IRS states necessary.

I just had a chat with Ford CS as I'm still stuck on 12/20 on the torture-o-meter as last update on "build." Delivery estimate moved to 1/6-1/9 a few days ago. CS telling me the truck is built and that it's awaiting shipment. I'm not buying it but who the hell knows. Trying to get the dealer to do a little more research.

New cars are like new houses, they have issues just because no one has really used it real world other than what they did at the factory to QC it. Definitely check for damage, rattles, mine has this dent in the rear speaker grill. I didn't find it until I got home:

What goes under Max credit allowable? Don't we need to wait for March for that?

My sales man freaks out as soon as he hears the word tax. I can tell he is zoned out and has the auto response ready: "you will have to talk to your tax consultant". I have a feeling, I need a bit of arm twisting for them to sign this form.
