FWIW my dealer only saw a 7000 rebate at first. I then emailed him the 2 memos for the $5k and $4k increases and said that if he has questions he can call the 800 number at the bottom. A day later he came back and said this

" I did manage to confirm that you ARE eligible for price protection, I need to get the dollar amount from the original DORA from the Zone Manager for Ford which I am in the process of so just to relieve the concern, you will be all set."

It sounds like your sales manager doesn't want to work on this for you, so you may need to try the social media route to try and stir something up and see if someone who is aware of the price protection can assist. Price protection isn't anything new, so any dealers who claim its not a real thing are ill-informed, or want to steal money from you.
Can you provide these memos in this thread? I have one, but do not have the other and am having the same issue with my dealer.

I believe these are the memos he's referring to.

That was the original "out the door" price the manager quoted me. Sticker price $60,164, + $1,752 dealer installed options, +$5386 taxes + $980 registration. They did eventually acknowledge my 7k private offer which dropped the price to $60,674.

The price protections are automatic, they will not show up as a certificate that the dealer can pull in from Smart Vincent like the $7,000. Price Protections are reimbursed automatically to the dealer by Ford in 45-60 days after sale so long as the name on the original order is the person they sell the truck to. The dealer is supposed to honor the MSRP from the order date, but we see how well that is going. @Ford Motor Company doesn't care what the dealer actually invoices the buyer, and are allowing their dealers to openly lie to customers that price protection doesn't exist so they can double dip.

Myself and numerous others have had to fight to get our dealers to honor Price Protection as well, some are more stubborn than others. Ford clearly doesn't give a shit, you can sit on the phone with CS reps and tweet all day and nobody will help you. Inevitable_Note_7546 on Reddit supposedly works in the Lightning marketing group and was seemingly the only one able to help some people in the same situation if you wanted to try reaching out to them.

Frankly if I had to do it again I'd skip all that nonsense and file a formal complaint with my state's dealer licensing office/department consumer protections and let the dealer explain to them why they refuse to honor Ford's pricing. Dealers openly screwing customers shouldn't be allowed to operate. This sales model is broken.

The fact the customer becomes the middle man between whether or not the dealer gets reimbursed is insane. The process has nothing to do with us, yet us lightning customers have so much to lose if its falls through. If the dealer gave it up front and then Ford owed them $9k and they didn't receive it, you bet your ass they would be working to resolve the issue. but if they can make us pay the new MSRP up front, they are already winning.

I am in the process of figuring this out as well right now. Yesterday I got my VIN assigned and build week of 3/13/23 . I ordered on 9/26/22 with PL320 ($46,974) code on my order summary and seeing the PL330 ($55,974) price on my Ford Account now that the VIN is assigned. So far getting passed back and forth between Ford and the Dealer; about 3 rotations in.

Currently speaking with Ford Marketing Program HQ - 571-831-5369 to try to get them to honor the price protection via a private cash offer certificate that they can attach to my VIN / Order Tracking # (4 digit). They said all certificates either for price protection OR model year changes have to be initiated from the dealership side.

We will see how this goes! Hoping for a $9,000 certificate.

Any update?
So last week I did get a call back from the Ford Supervisor (voicemail) stating "This issue with the MSRP price increase has been identified from Ford and the Dealer will reach out to the customer once this issue has been resolved, and also the MSRP will be adjusted at time of purchase to help offset the price increase. Your Ford.com account will still show full 23 MSRP, but at the time of purchase your pricing will be adjusted, and please contact your dealer to proceed".

I sent the audio file of the voicemail along with the 2 memo's regarding the price increase to the sales manager on Monday and have yet to hear back. Once I hear something I'll give an update. Truck should be here any day now so we'll see!

The dealer probably updates the deal reported to their state on these "after the fact" refund check deals with the new sale amount and pockets the extra sales tax they collected

I doubt they will convert normal price protection into a private offer. You are asking a lot for someone who ordered through a website glitch when the pro was actually sold out.

I don't see it as asking a lot, but we can disagree.

I am just a customer who wants to buy (keep not flip) the $40k EV best selling Pickup; reservation placed during the live announcement 22 months ago.

I came to accept the $7k price increase, which is now up to $15k over the Press Release headlines. I would love a Platinum, Lariat, or XLT but settled for the PRO because it's what I am willing to spend. Now I am just willing to do the leg work to try to limit it to $7k over $40k; not sure how this makes me entitled.

I'm not up to speed on the glitched pro order. However, if you ordered before the PL325 price increase you should be eligible for price protection at the ordered price ($46,974). However I'm worried you're going to confuse the issue if you insist on a "private offer" in place of price protection.

The $7k Pro private offer is for the model year 22 to 23 conversions to bring the '23 46.9k back to '22 39.9k. I know the first '23 wave 8/11 was all eligible for that. Since you're 9/26 I'm not sure but I should hope Ford would give you that since you were obviously an early reservation holder back in '21 like the people who ordered recently before you. Again, just worried you'll confuse the issue if you try to get the price protection as a "private offer".

Ah thank you, I will make sure to drop the private offer verbiage. I had only picked that up from the Ford Marketing Rep I first spoke to first today when I asked why my price went up.

As for my wave I think I was MY23Wave1 or whatever group was notified on September 7th 2022.

I thought the PRO wasn't officially sold out till oct 4 as per the Price increase PDF that's been going around. so as long as you ordered before oct 4th you should be price protected to $46,974
