Can someone summarize the modem issue for those of us that haven't taken delivery yet. Is it just affecting the phone app communicating with the truck? What else do you use the app for?

I first noticed it as the inability to update my charge settings. Then I realized it wasn't event connecting to the truck. I could still use it as PAAK.
I then pulled the fuse and the app connection to the truck came back to life.
I only pulled the fuse 1 time.

Remember to switch [ON] the UPDATES to ensure that your truck eventually gets this update after you do the fuse 32 or battery disconnect process, failing to turn it on is going to prevent reception.

Does the lightning need to be on to get this update? I accepted through sync in the truck. I didn't have automatic update enabled. It says ready to install. I assume it doest that automatically since there is no option to say yes to install. I'm just wondering if it needs to be on or not.

If you accepted through sync in the truck you should be good

Ah. You just accepted and left the truck on? I would shut it off for 5 minutes then turn it back on. Some modules need a power cycle to initiate the install. You may also not notice anything different with the update

Yeah, I just turned it off. Was on for 30 minutes and screen said same thing with the bell with ready install icon. I can't tell what it was doing, no signs, so I turned it off. Ok I will turn on again soon or tomorrow is another day. The instructions are very vague. Perhaps it does need to turn off to install.
thanks
: OK it did update. It needs to be off after it downloads. My Ford app just alerted me of the the success. I was expecting some reboot of screen like a phone update.

Yes, it renders controlling the truck through the app worthless. Truck still drives fine, but you lose a lot of convenience features. Remote start, charge settings ( can also be set in the physical truck) etc. First world problems, but it is annoying when you pay this much for a vehicle and the software is crap.

My FordPass has been inop since Feb 14.
Reset fuse 32 last night, drove truck today and it updated while I was in the store shopping.
Hopefully this is the end of my Ford Pass woes.

Had my service appointment cancelled for tsb23-2050 by the dealer this week.

I got my truck in Feb and got 4.1.1 the first week and then I additional updates until last week when I got 4.2.1. The text with the update is the same. "This update sets you up for all future updates" text that was on 4.1.1. Not the, "this update addresses connectivity issues" that others have reported. The day after, my connectivity dropped again. I used the 10mm wrench option to fix it and I've been good since but I can't tell you I'm optimistic about this being a fix for the problem. I have not received any subsequent updates and I really, really want the UI improvements.

I love my truck but this is frustrating and it is exacerbated when I call Ford and their "software update team" can't tell me when I can expect software updates. I don't even want to try the dealer because they seem clueless about the truck.

Sorry to vent but I thought you folks might understand.

My last update was about 3 weeks ago, the DTE update (nerf?). The previous two updates gave me a heads up. Today, about 30 min after getting home my phone notified that I just installed the 4.2.1 update. No warning, just POOF! Here ya go! Haven't checked yet if I have the new UI.

I'm wondering if the visual glitch I had this morning was due to the update. Which means no new UI and I still don't have the streaming apps.

My 2022 Lariat-ER updated this afternoon while we were at TF Green airport picking up my sister.

Came out to short-term parking, started the truck, put it in reverse and the backup camera screen was blank, no images from the back camera or the 360 view. The blank view did not return to my AA default view after driving forward for several hundred feet as it normally does, did not respond to the X command either.

Issue resolved by stopping and shutting down the truck, restart and all was back to normal, at the time I did not know the update had occurred, did not realize it until we arrived home and I checked my phone, noticing a F notification mentioning the update and further information in the Fordpass app confirming that 4.2.1 had been received and installed.

No substantive changes to the view and operation of Sync4-A, my prior updates were 4.1.3, 4.1.2, 4.1.1.
