I’ve got a demo on 3.5.3 which seems behind. It also doesn’t have PaaK which I’ve read that I need to go to a dealer and have them update some things to resolve. I also had to call support to get them to remove my truck from fleet mode.

My question is what version of the OTA do y’all with demos have?

Have you had to have the dealer do anything specific to update?

Lame. My dealer saying I have to drop the truck off for a week to do anything. RIP

I've gotten 3 updates since purchase in Feb. Currently on 4.2.1 and seem to be stuck (trying to download?) getting 4.2.2. I forget the build date but I think it was early summer '22. Here's what I have had on my SW update screen for a couple weeks now:

My demo ('22 Lariat ER) is still on 3.5.4. I've tried pulling the fuse to the modem, adjusting update times, parking in places with better AT&T service, and doing everything Ford has suggested to meet the update conditions (drive around without headlights on, set the parking brake, etc.). Nothing worked, so I'm heading to the dealer. May 17th is the earliest I can get in (had to take it in previously to get PAAK working).

lmk how it goes please! Very interested in getting this resolved but my dealer wants the truck for a week and that’s not an option right now :(

22 Pro, took it home in December. Got a few updates in Feb and nothing since. At 3.5.4. But from what I understand, there’s not much that’s been added for us Sync 4 folks. Got my expanded CarPlay, thats pretty much the only useful upgrade for Pro/XLT.

Oh I have a Lariat so I think I’m in 4A? I couldn’t really understand the difference and Fords help site isn’t great…

I have a 22Platinum demo. Started service August 2022. Sync 4 version 4.0.23031. I have had 3 updates. They were slow coming. It improved once I started setting the Parking Brake and Locking the doors. Made sure that I did this after driving. Ford told me that I needed to drive the truck to charge the 12 volt battery. I asked them several times about this. Dealer was not much help. Another note is that it took awhile for Ford to acknowledge that I was the owner of the truck, which delayed me getting my Ford Charge Station Pro charger. I actually think this was the biggest issue to resolve.

A key thing is the 12V battery being at 80% or higher SOC. The other day, my Mach-E failed repeatedly on 4.2.5. Since I know about the threshold, and since I had somewhere to go, I did that. Got back, update promptly applied because the battery was charged up.

And yes, it should be locked, and you not walking nearby to wake it up. But the parking brake is not a thing.

My demo just got 4.2.3 yesterday after my evening commute (about an hour of drive time including a quick grocery store stop). They are coming in, just takes a while.

Just got 3.5.4 last night so I guess the updates are coming, just slowly.

FYI - I followed this advice by Yellow Buddy below and as of 4/27 have a case number assigned and will have the Telematics turned off soon.

Yellow Buddy said:
@TaxmanHog it would be awesome if this can be stickied somewhere...it took me a while to find it and was just short of buying the mongoose adapter to try to resolve it.

I found a number of posts that said to unplug the 12v, pull fuses, reset the car, etc and none of it worked. This is the solution if you're missing the update button.

1. Contact ford fleet at (800) 343-5338.
2. Choose the option for Ford Pro Charge Station (direct to live agent)
3. State nicely to the customer care agent
- "Hi, I need to have the fleet code removed from my truck"
- "No, I don't have the fleet name nor the fleet code, but I have the VIN"
They will look up your truck by your VIN and be able to confirm if there's a fleet code or not.
*If you call after 5pm ET and before 5pmPT you will be more likely to get a direct case# vs being transferred.
