One of the huge benefits of the Lightning for me is the ability to store tools that can’t get wet inside the frunk. It’s ideal to use the outlets on battery chargers for those tools I use everyday. If you have something plugged in there, I get a warning on the center display and on my Ford App that say “Front trunk outlet cover open”. Yeah, thanks. It gives that warning every time you start the vehicle. I am new to the truck but I can’t find a setting anywhere to turn off the alert. Does anyone have a way to defeat this warning?

I already have a long list of warning alerts I would like to disable. This is another good one for the list.

Ok. Did a little experimenting today and I did find a way to not get the warnings every time you start the truck.

There is a small box on the inside of the outlet cover that has a small magnet in it. The picture with the pick. I taped a small magnet in the corresponding location on the outlet and that did it. I did not get the warning on the truck or on my phone. However, the outlet automatically cuts the power to the outlet when the truck power is cycled. So, you still have to go to the “Pro Power Onboard” in the menu and turn it on if you want it to run while you’re driving. I will see if I can find a work around that and let you guys know if I find anything.

I’m guessing this would also work for the people that are getting the message when the door is closed. That magnet needs to be exactly in the right spot.
