Hi, folks. 2022 F-150 LARIAT LIGHTNING ER. Bought used w/ 12100 miles. (THIRD OWNER)I can't seem to get a charge from ANYTHING that will flow faster than 35kw. Every type of charger that should do better will only flow at 35kw max. Is this the reason I am the third owner in less than 9 months for this truck? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Around 35kW is the normal default for bad cooling sensors on the charging units cord.

How many DC fast chargers have you tried? What locations?

Charged at an ea fast charge in L.A. for the return trip back to Vegas. Was listed at 150 kw. Took 56 minutes for about 45 miles worth. Flow was 35kw. Made it to Baker, CA. With 3% left. ( showed 12 miles left.) Charged on a E.A. 350 kw flow was still 35kw. Took 47 minutes and made it back to my residence in Vegas depending on 65mph and brake regeneration.

Did you try to switch charging units at all? Was anybody else getting low rates? I know a lot of units were derated around Chicago during the summer.

If you charged at the EV Go in Baker, many people are complaining about one of their chargers only putting out 35k.

You should look those chargers up on PlugShare, they'll show if they have issues. That speed is the default "charger is broken" speed for EA.

I wouldn't be the 3rd owner on a 1,200 mile truck without examining the service history very closely.

You are right. I was so excited to find an affordable 150 er that I didn't do the background that I should have. Took it in for the tailight and windshield wiper recall and alerted the mechanics of the charging problem. There was no info on the receipt pertaining to the charging issue. I am planning on going to south Texas in April for the eclipse so I am hoping the spring charging update will make a difference. Thanks, Frunkmaster and everyone else for your valuable experience and input.

Checkout the PlugShare check-ins for those locations and see if other people are also reporting the slow charging. As metnioned, EA chargers are often derated to 30'ish kW. It's incredibly annoying.

Look up reviews for a nearby charger that shows full rate and give that a try.

He neglected a comma, but first post shows 12,100 which is a *little* more reasonable. Even then I agree, would be very curious why there are already 2 people that sold it within a year. It seems out of the norm.
