They look like a good option on the Pro with 18" wheels, but in 20" you either have to drop the weight rating to 115 or go up to the LT tires that weight 55lbs each!
High standards! If you find what you are looking for let us all know! I imagine 115 should be ok provided you don’t load up the bed too much. Alternatively, you could buy my pro wheels and tires 🤣

I can answer for upstate NY winters. So far I have seen no cold weather power cuts in my ER Lariat, but I do get a range hit. In the winter and on the highway, I only get 220-230 miles of range on the stock tires. Still perfectly usable for everything I want to do.

That said, I am actively looking for tires that will perform better in the snow, be usable year round, and without a huge range hit. I have a usual trip where I go 180 miles before my first charging stop. Most traditional A/T tires (i.e. KO2s) seem to have about a 20% range hit, which would make getting to that charging stop in the winter very dicey. Trying to find something like a severe snow (3PMS) rated all season or all weather, that handles the Lightning's load requirements, and only has a 10% or less range hit.
Appreciate the insight - thank you!

Sounds like a semi-aggressive 3PMS A/T tire may be the way to go. The BFG Trail Terrain T/A may be worth a look. I can't speak to range unfortunately, but this tire holds it's own in winter conditions and is near stock tire in terms of weight.

Thanks! Those are on my short list too. TFL used them for their Lightning trip up to Alaska and had generally good reviews. About a 12 percent range loss though.

I keep poking around at different tires. Anything thoughts or opinions on Continental CrossContact LX20? Specs and reviews seem pretty good.

The CrossContact LX20 has been a staple in the crossover/SUV market. It definitely delivers a quiet ride and does well in terms of life. It also tends to perform slightly above average through winter conditions.

I haven't seen any reviews for this tire on the Lightning though, however for full size light duty picks ups it is well received.

If it helps, I made a bit of a table of different tires for the Lightning. I was initially focused on all-terrains, so the table is mostly these, but I've added in a few all seasons as well, including the LX20s. Not sure it'll help but you can filter on different columns:

Edit: well that's weird, it's embedded the spreadsheet rather than linking to it in a new tab. Not sure what to do about that.

Actually, I really like how this was embedded!

I'm in SE Michigan. At 90% charge my realistic range over the winter was about 190 miles with my work commute. A typical back and forth from home is about 70% highway with speeds around 70 to 73 mph and the rest between 45 and 60.

I'm getting excited for summer. It's been getting into the lower 50's here lately and I've been seeing 2.0 to 2.1 kWh instead of the 1.7 to 1.8 I was getting overall.
As a fellow SE Michigander I agree!

Has anyone considered, or better yet installed, the 17" steelies from Tire Rack? They're just 27.6 lbs and have the stock factory +44 mm offset for a nice aero-loving tuck. And yes, Tire Rack says they're good to use on the Lightning.

This is likely too late, but for anyone's future reference these steelies from Tire Rack do NOT fit my 2023 XLR SR, even though their website claimed they did. Interestingly their website no longer lists them. Now comes the battle to convince them that they made a mistake and pay the return shipping...

That sucks. I'd say they did make a mistake and should totally cover the return shipping. If you want that steelie look, consider the American Racing Outlaw 2. I posted about this elsewhere, but I mounted some Nokian R5s to these wheels a few weeks ago on my 23 PRO and am digging it. Got 9" of wet concrete last nite in northern VT and she drove great.

Nice! I have Nokian R3s that I will break out if I feel that the OEM ATs aren't cutting it. However, I just bought some Lariat take-off wheels with new ATs on them just because the whole setup was $1,000. Too cheap to pass up.

However, I REALLY like those American Racing Outlaw 2 wheels. I assume you have them in 18"?

Oh, man. They interfered with the brake caliper or rotor, I'm guessing? I don't think anyone's running 17" wheels with the stock offset that I've heard of around here anyway.

Maybe they have an 18" steelie that works? There are good winter tire options in 18" and all-weather options like the Nokian Outpost (the newer "nAT" version even comes in a 123 load rating) though you lose all the "cargo van" and "SUV" tires like the WR-G4 that seem to stop at 17" sizes.

Yup 18, +45 mm offset. Ended up being 8 mm farther outboard, too little to notice. No measurable range hit as far as I can tell.
