It looks doable. Any idea how it's held on? Does it just clip onto the hinge? I was thinking about making something that would hang onto the charge port door and cover everything. You would still have to put it on/take it off every time you want to use it but it's better than nothing.

With a 12 day ship time and a freeze coming this week, any suggestions for a temporary solution? Could I just drape a towel across the door and charging handle? Any other suggestions?

Buy a foam/plastic faucet protector to cover the charging port. Might have to get creative and cut it up a bit to make it work. Picture of a Chevy Bolt owner who had the same idea.

This is my first go at at. I'm not sure that I like it. The black is a soft material too go against the paint.
