Interesting, they'll fix some bugs and no doubt add some new "features" .

Just wish they'd introduce one-time departures. I work from home, I don't need to depart at the same time every day, but I do want the truck preconditioned/warmed/cooled before I make a specific trip without worrying about remembering to hit remote start.

Hopefully a major update to Fordpass will be coming later.

I know there has been rumors of testing.

I have no idea what feature improvements will be coming and anyone in the testing group is not allowed to disclose until it's released to the entire population of users.

I dont really keep up with how often the iOS app is updated, but whatever they did it seems to work better. Everytime I tried to change, delete or add a departure time on the app I always received a failure. Now, I can edit and change my departure times on the app. How exciting.

Edit: Changing charging locations and percentages works as well.

I tested the {Departure Time} function Friday & Saturday, was able to create a scheme with Fordpass and the truck received the settings request instantly, watching it pop up on the Sync screen.

Saturday morning the process ran as expected, (I've rarely had failures of departure time requests, maybe once in 16+ months.

Test report is here as a follow-up on the efficacy of performing a battery conditioning routine while plugged in during the cold season, when all I really need is a warm cabin, my conclusion is to use remote start instead, I already knew this but wanted more data to convince myself and onlookers.

Thanks for your testing. I dont see a difference on my commute to work. However, I do see a difference on road trips when I precondition as you mentioned.

Now atleast, we dont have a "precondition now" button but I can set my departure time and I have confidence the vehicle will accept it.

Apparently my mobile device received an updated version of Fordpass 7 days ago {1/7/2024}

Looking at the version labels, it's inconsistent.
Release from DEV to PROD on 1/5/24 makes sense though if I got it on 1/7/24

That is exactly what I see. I have a higher version than is listed on Google play. These developers must be heavy drinkers.

@Jim Lewis , above is a minor update, see if you have it and if there is any positive impact with HIS operations, I have no idea what minor fixes were released.

Yes, on 1/11/24, my iOS version of FordPass got updated to 4.32.1. Just checked my FCSP charging rate now, though. FP is set to charge at 60 A, FCSP only delivers ~30 A (battery temp is 13 deg C), and CarScanner says my truck is only requesting 31 A. If I try to check FP, Account, Charge Station, I get a "Connection Lost" flag, something which has plagued me off and on since August/September 2023. I can get by with a 30 A charging rate, but that's not what I paid $$$ for; the FCSP is hard-wired to 80 A on a dedicated 100 A line. I've complained to Ford/Sunrun about this, and they've yet to come up with a solution. As I reported previously, a Ford rep told me that my FCSP can't be replaced under warranty since their telemetry shows no fault. Could be a glitch in my truck, but my dealer found no problems with my truck on 1/11/24 when BECM and BSM CSPs were addressed and Sync recall cleared. So, inadequate troubleshooting and repair methodology for charging rate problems?

Forgive me if this has been covered in other threads on this topic, but have you tried another L2 charger to see if the truck will request a higher rate? And do you know anyone with an EV that can try charging on your FCSP to see what happens?

Those could help narrow down if the issue is with the truck or the FCSP.

CarScanner says my truck is only requesting 31 A.
That points to a persisting weakness in Fordpass to send the proper 80 amp setting to the trucks charge controller, it's not a problem with the FCSP, nor the truck but the Fordpass continues to be the weak link.

My dealer has an FCSP and that was something discussed before I went in on 1/11/24 for the BECM and BSM CSP updates and the Sync recall, but somehow that fell through the cracks. To really test it at the dealer, I'd have to connect my FordPass to their FCSP, etc., which is probably something they don't want to go through and I probably wouldn't either at whatever their hourly EV tech labor charge is :D , since I'm not sure that if it's really a FordPass issue, whether there's any "warranty" coverage there! Have a further update to follow on another mysterious charging rate change...
