Thank you a million. Easiest way to extract the pins? Also easiest way to insert new pins?
Extracting pins can sometimes be difficult if you don't know how the catch tine works. If you don't have a pin extractor set, maybe ask around in your community if you have a stereo shop or somebody that does electronics.

That connector may be small enough where you can take a tiny flat head watch type screwdriver and get in there and release one of the pins. Don't worry about messing up the pin because you will be able to straighten/repair the catch tine once you get it out. Once you get it out, look back at my post on page 5 to see how to take the measurements. Also, get good pictures of the catch tine detail

You’re a gentleman and a scholar. I will be going to ford tomorrow to get my recall looked at, and buy the ACC module ordered. Thanks again.

Any mechanic should be able to pull one of those pins out for you. Maybe you can make friends with your service advisor and ask him to let you talk to the mechanic for 5min while your truck is in service. During or after the service pop the dash drivers side cover off and reach down and unplug IMPA connector C242B. Ask him to help you extract one of the pins so you can make sure you purchase the correct one. Maybe he'll be interested in what your doing and be eager to help.

yes, but you would be bypassing the C134 and C265 connectors, no?

Godspeed! Keep us posted! So you *don't* have tow tech package, correct?
I haven’t forgotten about this project. Last week I had a horrible back spasm on top of getting a new puppy, and then I went to the dealer today and they wanted $700+ for the module. So I’m just gonna order it online.

Is there any reason the pins you bought would be different size than the ones that I would need?

Yes, the pins I had to deal with were from C134 which is the front bumper connector. You're bypassing all that and going straight from the IMPA connector C242B to the CCM pigtail. C242B is a tiny indoor connector, its pin will be way smaller and I'm not sure of the gender. I actually have a 2023 XLT right now as a loaner, I'll pop one of those pins out tonight and measure it for the group.

thank you!!! once i get the pins connected to the wiring im ordering, will i have to disassemble the connector or can they just slide in from the rear? I apologize for all the questions, im totally new to dealing with these connectors. Its the only thing Im inexperienced with when it comes to this project.

thanks again.

So weird news, I'd heard the 2023s didn't have the CCM wiring over to the passenger kickpanel, but apparently they do. It could be that I'm getting this mixed up with the PROs that don't have this wiring. This is the connector C242B from the XLT SR 311A loaner I have

All the wires are there, you can identify them from this document:

I'm going to make a different post now about the pin info from this connector because there are others that need/want it for other reasons as well as I. It still may be better to just run wires from this connector straight to the CCM. I'll come back here and post the link once I make that post: (link placeholder)

i appreciate the update, Ive confirmed my pro does not have the proper wiring so im still on track to wire directly to the CCM from this connector. SO.. i apparently glossed over the connector for the CCM module. Does anyone know the part number or if there is one for that pigtail connector that plugs into the CCM? Otherwise im just going to order the full wiring harness just to cut that connector off. Which would make it a $100+ pigtail, and im not necessarily crazy about that.

thanks again.

Thanks for posting this. It seems this practice of using pigtails with sleeve crimp couplings and heat shrink is common. I can't stand it, but I'm an OCD EE, I'll admit. I'm so OCD that if I had a pro without the IMPA wires, I'd run a 4 wire harness of the correct color directly from the C242B to the C134 bumper connector, then replace the bumper harness as I did when I added my CCM. But I won't fault anyone for using the CCM pigtail and going directly from the IMPA to the CCM. I think you still have to take the bumper off physically mount the CCM bracket, but whatever.

So, the Gen14 forum says these are terminals for the IMPA connector:
https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/ford-terminal_du2z-14474-ca.html
but, I would never do this, I would order the correct color wires like I did from:https://4rcustomswire.com/products/20-gauge-txl-wire-6-striped-colors-each-25-foot-long

Then the correct pins: https://www.digikey.com/en/products...5-1/5437424?s=N4IgTCBcDaIIwE4wBYEFY0Fo4gLoF8g
and crimp them myself.

This is the type of crimper you need if anyone is curious:
https://www.engineertools-jp.com/pa092021
The PA-20 is my favorite and most versatile for this kind of work.

In case anyone wants to research different AWG pin options from TE, this is the IMPA connector:
