OK I found out that the charger in Maine is a 40amp, 240V level 2 charger off of a house thats on 200amps. Should be able to charge overnight without issue unless I'm missing something...Correct?
Thank you!
That will be no problem at all

The key is going to be the amount of hours on the level 2 charger, and it's power level,

If you use the truck's mobile charger, and you arrived with 10% battery, and want to charge to 100%, and had 15% loss,....

.9 x 98 = 88

30amps x 240v x 85%= 6.1kW

88/6.1= 14.4 hours, not counting your departure time warmup which could take over an hour. Call it 15.5 hours.

If the level 2 charger is permanent, it may be on PlugShare.

Take the numbers in my post and multiply and divide by 1.3 (40/30).

6.1 x 1.3 = 8kW

14.4 / 1.3 = 11.1 hours.

Check math:

240 x 40 x 85% = 8.1

88/8.1= 10.9 (diff is rounding above)

40A*240V=9.6kW
9.6kW*0.85=8.2kW (due to heat loss)
98kWh÷8.2kW=12 hours from zero to 100% in an SR.

Any overnight stay should get you to your target charge, no problem.

This is what the Ford pass trip planner projects, note this is assuming an extremely optimistic 2.14 MPK, reality is depending on speed & how much heating you use it could get down to 1.6 or 1.5 MPK.

ER battery pack with 131 KWH at 100% starting SOC, consume 58 KWH of energy over 124 miles, 2.14 MPK, the reality is a lower number, worst case, 124 miles divided by 1.5 MPK, 83 KWH

SR battery pack with 98 KWH, you would use ~85% arriving at your destination with 15% reserve, or 10% if you started with 95%

Use Rick's recharging factors, the conversion losses of 15% is ballpark, but I've seen it as good as 8-10% but that is on an ER pack with dual inverters and 80-amp EVSE, with an effective input current of 75 amps.

In the end you can make it work in a SR truck, bookmark the DCFC stations along the way, pump up enough energy if you're falling short, the best point to top up is when you are 10-30% SOC then use home/remote home charging to top up for next long drive.

BTW, when it comes to winter battery prep, set your max charge to 95%, schedule the departure timers to be ready 10 minutes before actual leave time, this will ensure the battery & cabin are fully warmed up!!

Great. Thank you!
I'm actually going to western maine, which means only half will be highway, but also slower driving... If your model can easily spit out Medford, MA or Parsonsfield, ME that would be helpful! But you have all been so helpful already. Much appreciated!

55 KWH over 124 miles = 2.25MPK
124 miles / 1.5 MPK = 83 KWH

I'd be pretty uncomfortable with too much off main roads in Maine, I lived in Bath and would not even consider SR for winter. Battery range impact is easily 20 to 30% and wind is huge impact. 70mph with 10mph head wind is equal to 80 mph drag, and very low m/kwh. I'd hate to almost make any distance in cold Maine winter.

If you are dead set on a SR, on this trip sto0 at last DCFC and quick charge to 80% to be safe in winter temps.

Sure looks like you are in some serious waste land of EV charging options too.

Thank you. Yes not many charging options near my destination other than the destination itself. I'm mostly trying for the SR for cost reasons because, as I understand it, there weren't 2023 Pro's with ER batteries. I could be wrong though. And the 2024s seem much more expensive.
The hypothetical of very very low temp weather, plus strong headwind seems rare enough (assuming I go up only 3 times a month) that charging for a few mins in Seabrook NH or Portsmouth NH would be a fine backup plan...

We live almost exactly halfway along this route, and drive a SR XLT all over, including to Western Maine (Rangeley). You will be fine. It's an awesome road tripping vehicle, you will love it. We put snow tires on ours, and that did seem to decrease range a fair bit, but even then we were easily able to do our weekend 110+ mile weekend ski trips easily. We also just did the drive from seacoast NH to Rangeley ME a couple days ago and averaged 2.4 mi/kw, which is great efficiency. And you will easily be able to charge overnight. Do it, and don't look back! You won't be disappointed

The Seabrook Electrify America charger has been very fast and reliable the couple times we have used it. You won't ever need it, but it will be there for peace of mind

There is actually a good fast charger at an Irving/Circle K in Dover. It's very near our house so we never use it, but it's the best option along Route 16. Dover also has brand new Tesla Superchargers right off Route 16. They may not even show up yet on the mao, but they just got out in a couple weeks ago.
