Has anyone had a problem with their blue cruise ? since I bought it , you get on a highway you turn on blue cruise and it comes on sometimes and when it does , it will be on for a few minutes , and then it's off for 5 minutes and then , this is repeated on and off again ! it drives me crazy ! it's been at Ford 5 times and they still haven't fixed the problem !

Also worth mentioning that if you have a phone mount or some such blocking the eyeball cameras, it will prevent Blues Clues from being available. I've done this before, so first hand experience.

Both my 2022 LER & 2023 LER have had that sporadic BC, annoying as hell. It's a feature not a bug. I won't be spending any $$ to keep it going when it expires.

Just out of curiousity…is it on a divided freeway with on-ramps and off ramps (in California speak, a freeway)? Or are there sections that have intersections (with or without stop signs or lights)?

Does the highway you speak of go between a “freeway” and a “non freeway”?

Hwy 101 out here in my neck of the woods goes regularly from a “freeway” to a “non freeway” constantly. Since the non freeway sections don’t meet Fords definition as BC capable, it turns off in those sections. I find it annoying, but have learned to get used to it.

Have you observed any construction on the highway when it shuts off? I noticed mine shut off this past weekend several times when the lanes were shifted over a bit with construction barriers.

This☝— is it actually “turning off”, or just cycling out of hands free? Ie.. the adaptive cruise and lane keeping are still working. This is how it’s supposed to work. Personally, with BC on I keep my hands resting on the wheel anyway, just letting it drive. It basically, other than turning off the handsfree icon, operates the same way in Adaptive cruise with lane keeping as it does in BC with my hands in that position. (On that same rural stretch of 101).

I find that BC requires:

- Limited access divided highway
- Well marked lanes

It quits (without notice and sometimes resulting in a hazardous situation) when:

- Divided highway ends
- Lane striping is poor
- Around entry / exit ramps, if they are relatively long
- Sun glare
- There are sharp curves on the road

Blue Cruise also shuts off at 81mph and above. If you set the adaptive cruise above 80, but come up on traffic which slows you down to 80 or below, it can cycle like you describe.

My BC shuts off the "hands free" (ONLY the Hands Free) mode under the conditions described earlier in this thread. This makes sense to me.
