I spoke to the OTA team at Ford on 8/24 and they let me know that the plan is to have all Lightnings updated to 1.3 bluecruise by the end of the year. Lots of promises!

Apologies, I spent a lot of time reading first! It seems that Ford thinks it is OK to pull an Elon and keep making promises. That is why I sold my FSD Tesla! That's one heck of a way to announce your presence on this forum
Yes, but did they mention which year? They made the same promise last year, but didn't specify a year, so I guess that promise is still active.I spoke to the OTA team at Ford on 8/24 and they let me know that the plan is to have all Lightnings updated to 1.3 bluecruise by the end of the year. Yes, it has been a couple of years! They wouldn't address rumors of buying the software rights to Tesla FSDYes, but did they mention which year? They made the same promise last year, but didn't specify a year, so I guess that promise is still active.
You sold a car that will drive you door to door on city streets and navigate interchanges for one that only does divided mapped highways in straight lines and does not stop for stop signs or lights because robotaxi is late?Apologies, I spent a lot of time reading first! I sold a car that crashed into the railing on the beltway in Washington DC while in full self driving. I should say that it "brushed" the guardrail after being spooked by a shadow. I drove it straight to the dealer in Tyson's Corner and they told me that FSD is beta and they didn't care that the cameras captured no vehicle intrusion into the lane. It was when the Model 3 P first came out and the Tesla repair center had it for 3 months. FSD is dangerous and should be illegal. It may get you "door-to-door" but I wouldn't trust it to drive to the end of my driveway. You sold a car that will drive you door to door on city streets and navigate interchanges for one that only does divided mapped highways in straight lines and does not stop for stop signs or lights because robotaxi is late?
Not to sidetrack the point of this thread but here is my experience with self driving by vehicle:You sold a car that will drive you door to door on city streets and navigate interchanges for one that only does divided mapped highways in straight lines and does not stop for stop signs or lights because robotaxi is late?
I did ask them about the Tesla network. They told me that is not in their dev plan currently but it is in the upgrade notes and previous posters mentioned it. They also are behind on shipping Tesla charging adaptors. The agent mentioned in passing that the adapter was a priority although I would hope these are different teams at Ford.Given the pace of updates, it wouldn’t surprise me. It would also be nice to get superchargers added to the navigation.
When they switched to the NN training based version earlier this year it changed A LOT. The previous versions required constant attention because it would constantly make dumb decisions. I am sorry about your car. My 2018 M3P- was my favorite car (my brother has it now).I sold a car that crashed into the railing on the beltway in Washington DC while in full self driving. I loved the M3P until it crashed me. To have a $50K car with bad paint that was faster than my Porshe 911 was really fun! If it worked as advertised I would never have sold it (also during Covid it sat sadly in my garage on the hook)When they switched to the NN training based version earlier this year it changed A LOT. If @Ford Motor Company delays 6 more months past the end of this year, my "free" 3 years of BlueCruise will have expired. But ... that was likely the plan all along.Yes, but did they mention which year? They made the same promise last year, but didn't specify a year, so I guess that promise is still active.
Not something to worry about now but my window sticker on my 22 Platinum makes zero reference to BlueCruise being time limited. Later window stickers did. Will be interesting to see what Ford does abut owners who, based on their window sticker, weren't clearly specified as having the feature for a specific time period. If @Ford Motor Company delays 6 more months past the end of this year, my "free" 3 years of BlueCruise will have expired.
