I washed it at night and I noticed that the exterior lights would turn on when I ran the water hose or my drying towel near the thumb lock/unlock buttons on the door handle. I had the key fob sitting on the side next to my phone with the Ford Pass app turned off. Is there a way to temporarily deactivate the lights when washing the truck? I also noticed they would turn on just when opening doors while being unlocked.
During the day, it's not much of an issue, but I tend to wash my truck at night and they are too bright.

I don't mind them turning on when I unlock the truck, but it seems excessive to turn on every time I open a door or touch the unlock button.

Everything Ive read mentions to deactivate the welcome lighting, but I already disabled that on the day I bought it.

Try, manually turning headlight switch dial to OFF position, note that it's temporary and will revert to Auto on the next Press to Start /Key On usage

Wait, why are you washing your truck at night? And why don't you want lights on? What kind of crimes are you doing with your truck?🤔

I tried the light switch and that did not work for me. Still a light show. My case is when I am camping or at a dark sky spot and want to keep everything off, but may need to open and close the doors a lot. The truck lights up EVERYTHING, headlights, light bar, side lights, tail lights and back up lights. If there are campers trying to sleep you just woke them up, if you are trying to keep it dark for everyone to see stars you just messed up their eyes. All the lights are not necessary and you can’t turn them off with a switch, you just have to wait. It’s ridiculous.

Well, other than all the lights, bells and whistles it is kind of stealth!
