He stated he had been driving a Chinese car he had flown over to Michigan for 6 months and didn't want to give it back. Business Insider states this car was:

List price in China for $30,600 US. Has charge time of 15 minutes for 350-510 km depending on model, adjustable air suspension, emphasis on safety with steel & aluminum body, made by a phone company so software is great.

Apparently this is the Apple Car that was never built. Xiaomi is a leading phone provider in China; and Farley called this car the "industry juggernaut".

Sure, and with legacy costs and US labor costs, that 30k turns into 45+ here. There is a reason there is a high tariff on Chinese EVs

Man, I'm old enough to remember when "Made in Japan" or "Made in Taiwan" meant crappy quality.

I think we are seeing the same progression with the Chinese... unfortunately, they are geopolitical competitors as well.

Although I'm happy with the truck, I'll join you in agreement that whether or not there is an opening, there is definitely a need. Appreciate what the developers are doing, but an investment in doing more would not be wasted.

BTW, is the Sync™ software not produced by a certain large software company in Washington that makes a widely used PC operating system which is {I should avoid cuss words and keep my opinion to myself}? Ctrl-Alt-Del, Volume-SeekRight, same thing?
