I apologize in advance if there is already a thread on locating cabin noises. I took the truck to the dealer 3 months ago for them only to insult me to say it was the right rear seat belt knocking on the door (even though I had told them when I dropped it off that it had nothing to do with the seat belt). The actually wrapped the seat belt around the headrest and said they fixed it (Huntersville Ford in NC).
Well appears the knock is coming from inside the panel above the right rear window (along the ceiling) Isolated to the area around the garment hook on the ceiling above the window. Held up on the pano window screen shade but wasn’t it.
Does anyone know what is behind that section of the ceiling panel. Again, right around the garment hook the back right pax seat of a 2023 Platinum ER. If anyone has an idea before I go pulling the trim would be awesome.

I have a similar noise. When I turn into a parking lot and go over the curb, I hear a light thump in the left passenger rear. Makes the sound like if you have something small and unsecured in the bed and it moved. Its not a loud thump, but you can hear it.

Guess I will check the rear seatbelts first and make sure they are secured.

Not the seat belts. That was the obvious first approach. It is coming from inside the pillar behind the garment holder along the ceiling. Likely something to do with the pano roof.

Sunroof track. I think there's a drain tube in the back corner as well.

Inside the b-pillar? There's a lot more in there. Seat belt mechanism and side curtain airbags.

Might be wiring mount came loose, it's rattling around?

I have rattles rear section of the moon roof, moving the shade a little modifies the rattle for while until it returns.....

I have had this off and on for the past 2 years or so with my Lightning. It is definitely related in some way to the panoramic sunroof track, as others have noted. I find that I can often get it to go away if I open the sunroof fully and then close it again.

My guess is a wiring harness related to the “moonroof”. It isn’t the b-pillar. It literally at the “garment holder/light”. So I just need to find a way to pull the trim and check. I just didn’t want to attempt if anyone knew for sure there isn’t anything routing through that section. I was hoping someone had a drawing of the area to share. Thanks to all. I’ll post what I find.

That’s awesome. Thank you. I bet it is airbag related. Which means I’m taking it in. I don’t think I want to mess with anything around that.
Thank you again. That’s what I was looking to see.

I had a sound like a marble rolling around that drove me nuts for a couple of months. My wife said it was coming from behind the driver and I thought it was behind the passenger. One night, in the rain I opened and closed the moonroof. Never heard the noise again.
