Adding emergency lights to my truck, and typically on other builds when I’d integrate them into brake lights, I’d just splice into the tail light wiring. Is that feasible on these trucks? It’s along the lines of adding a light bar under the tail gate.

Did you have any luck figuring this out? I also have a Pro. I believe it has a plug in the wiring under the bed near the spare tire, which is what the trims with the tailgate light bar plug into. I’m wondering if it’s possible to plug an aftermarket light bar into that. I’m making a camper and looking into wiring in a third brake light.

I didn’t go through with anything. But I did discover splicing into a tail light wire works.

Did you remove a tail light and just splice into the wiring?
If so, do you remember what the color of the wiring set up was?
I am going to add a red running light across the tail gate since, my flash didnt have one.
Plus, I need to splice into the front turn signal wiring too but, can't find any diagrams or color chart for the wiring.

Ok, I see. I've read that tying into the trailer harness will trick the truck into towing mode and turn off rear sensors and cameras and range estimates.
More than likely it will.

I did this for brighter reverse lighting. Used the trailer plug in, didn't want to cut into wiring. 1st couple of times the truck did want to know which trailer I was towing. But after a few times of canceling the tow alert. Seems to have learned that there isn't one. Still every once in a while it will give the alert. But this works fine. Actually don't care for the looks. But it works.

I wired my lights into the 7 pin harness adapter as planned. Everything works fine and I haven’t had any tow alerts since the install last Friday. The lights are the Diode Dynamics SSC1. I made some brackets out of stainless steel.

How exactly did you tap the lighting on the back? My Diode Dynamics hitchlight just arrived, which is exactly what I need to aid with backing up in the pitch-dark country, but as suspected, my 23 Lariat is throwing all sorts of phantom trailer warnings, starting from "bad turn signals" and of late disabling BLIS.

Did you use the Diode harness and connect behind the bumper to the 7-pin connector, or just splice into the 7-pin directly?

I used the diode dynamics harness I linked earlier in this thread behind the bumper plugged in between the truck’s harness and the 7 pin connector. Two weeks in and I haven’t seen any kind of faults.
