My truck is getting a powertrain warning and it won't charge. It is telling me I have about 53% power available and the SoC is at 83%. Called around and most dealers in the area are booked for weeks for EVs. Found one that will take me, but not for a few days. Is it safe to drive it for a few days until my appointment so that I can still get to work?

The truck isn't going to explode so in that sense it's safe. It might leave you stranded somewhere.

Yeah, I guess that is more what I meant. Is it going to die in the road somewhere? I decided to risk it as I needed to get to work. So far it is still driving fine, minus the reduced power. Hopefully I will be able to drive it to the dealer tomorrow without any problems...and they approve a loaner

That's what I'd have done. See if you can DC charge. That will give you an idea of what's broken.

Is that wise? I've seen other posts where people get the CCS1 adapter locked to their truck. Could that happen in this scenario?

As far as I know that's a different issue. If it were me I'd gather as many clues as possible before heading to the dealership. I'm an idiot on the internet though.🤷

The truck is very usable with the "Service Vehicle Soon" warning light and P0B24 error.

The presence of the wrench icon will prevent you from charging above approximately to the percent the drivetrain power is limited to, mid 50's maybe mid 60's. If you clear the warning with a ODB2 reader, you'll be able to charge mostly normally. I experienced DC slowdowns above 83% and AC slowdowns above 93% beyond the typical charging curve.

I cleared the "Service vehicle soon" warning light and P0B24 code and completed a 1,500 mile road trip. When I returned, I brought it to the dealer without the warning light or code currently showing. They measured a couple of cells in module 3 as out of family by 30 mV: 3.94V vs. 3.97 average. They anticipate completing the repair tomorrow, the 23rd day they've had the vehicle. See the powertrain error thread.

One lesson learned: you should try contacting Ford directly to accelerate the repair timeline. The longest delay is the time it takes Ford to approve the warranty repair, ship the replacement via ground, and the dealer to receive it. If you can get Ford to ship the faulty module while you're still in possession of the truck, it could be repaired within a day once the replacement module is delivered.

You won't receive a loaner vehicle until Ford approves a warranty repair. You can accelerate this by coordinating with Ford requesting their approval before you drop off at a dealer.

If you leave it at the dealer, it'll likely be three or more weeks before your vehicle is repaired given Ford's inefficient warranty approval and shipment process.

I dropped my truck off today. I did call Ford yesterday and they opened a case. However when I was at the dealer today, they said the Ford case number meant nothing to them and they refused to take it. Haven't heard anything yet so not sure what the issue is going to be classified as yet. Don't have a OBD2 reader so not sure what the exact error code is. The dealer has yet to call me to tell me anything. They were going to do some CSPs for me as well.

Please tell us what the Build Month/Year (top of sticker driver's door), mileage, battery type (SR/ER) of your 2022 Lariat. I am compiling a list of these reports, see it by clicking on the link in my signature below. I am curious to see if the later model years are getting any better with the HV batteries. Ford noted in a TSB 23b57 that "Less than 4% of the affected vehicle population is expected to require one or more high voltage battery modules needing to be replaced". However, there have been a number of other causes of powertrain failures that do not involve a bad cell in one of the nine modules.
