@Ford Motor Company - shame an me for spending 90k+ on a vehicle and believing your lies on updates are coming.
You're welcome to shame the dealership for this lack of attention to a problem!

I don’t ever expect an OTA again on my truck. Two and a half years of ownership, empty promises, poor dealership support, changes in BlueCruise from purchase to subscription AFTER my vehicle purchase, and no OTA updates in 6+ months, why would anyone believe such a simple update would come to existing vehicles.

I don't see how this is a dealership problem. Ford puts out press releases promising features are coming OTA, then didn't fulfill them.

It’s especially annoying to people who volunteer time to test things for Ford and fill out surveys, only to have @Ford Motor Company come on here and say “We’ve heard your feedback! Check out these updates we made for you!” …only to find out you can’t get them without buying a new truck.

Why would any current owner want to help them? It’s insulting.

Ford would get a much better response if they just apologized for the piss poor OTA roll outs and said they are working to improve them. Just that alone would be an order of magnitude better than any PR on new features.

I have and the dealerships I have gone to here in Houston do not care. I reach out to the dealer and they say they cannot help, they tell me to talk to Ford, talk to Ford, they tell me the dealer can take care of it.

I bet some people paid markups on a platinum during launch/covid that got up that high.
Original Platinum without markup, Spray in bed liner with destination was $93,264 ($90874 base, $595 for bed liner, $1795 for delivery). There were people paying upwards of $130k with markup to be the first at this time. 2 things happened at this time. Chip Shortage that drove all vehicle costs up and first launch of the truck at the same time.

Finger pointing back and forth IS poor customer service at the dealer service department WHEN FOMOCO said your dealer can help you, an advocate needs to step up to the plate break the insanity chain.

Ford should focus on distribution glitches before attempting even one more feature upgrade, get that nailed down tight then resume promotion of new deployment.

The current circus is expanding frustration and sullying potential customer engagement & sales.

The current Public Charging app seems to only find chargers within 50 or so miles, so I've been saving them as Fav's in the navigation screen. I noticed on last trip that Google is recognizing chargers now and Google has always been more useful.
I was doing some trial trips last night waiting in line at the Whataburger drive through and set the destination and then it chooses chargers, I compared that with what I know and what's on ABRP/PlugShare.

I didn't try just panning out and having it find chargers. It seems like it should populate them. Once you're looking outside of major cities, there are not nearly as many to clutter up the map.

Whole heartedly agree. I am still on PU 6.8. I had an update failure end of August, nothing since. been at the dealer to update all of the modules, but no luck on anything since.

Yeah my parents paid full sticker on their ID.4 in 2022 when there was a 6 month waiting list to get one, and they had to shop around for a dealer who didn't want to upcharge more money above sticker.

I could probably get 15%-20% off sticker on a 2024 ID.4 today BEFORE incentives, but that's not the market that existed almost three years ago when my parents ordered theirs in March of 22.

It's not too cool to shame people for responding to the market conditions that existed at the time of their purchase.

I guess this is nice....but also, the FordPass app already does all of this and it works without any issues.

I bought mine kinda in panic mode. Ford had just jacked up prices for the 2023's and I was worried I wouldn't get the tax credit for an ER. Ended up paying 4k over MSRP (thankfully tax credit not based on sale price) which was still cheaper than buying a 2023 at the time. We all know how prices played out since then (Feb '23).

I can't imagine a software improvement like this wouldn't be intended to get implemented on previous model years as well.

As to whether each individual person will actually receive it is obviously a different question, since it seems there's multiple anecdotes of people not getting updates. But I'm sure the intent on Ford's part is for it to flow down to previous model years.

Easy for me to be optimistic though: my 2024 Platinum has already successfully gone through one update since purchasing it last month...

Car company trying to keep up with software companies versus software company trying to keep up with car companies. Pick your poison I suppose.
