Please forgive me if this topic exists already. I've seen this in the past here but now I can't find it via search.

See screenshots below. I have the preferred charge times set for off peak hours between midnight and 2 pm but the truck is illiterate and waits to charge until 2 pm- the complete opposite of what I want. So then I reversed it in the app and still it waits to charge until 2 pm.

I deleted my home location in the app, cleared the cache on my phone and did a clean app install then reset the settings in my truck and still have this problem. I'm thinking the best way to solve this problem is to buy a Charge point home EV charger for $400 and set the charge times in there because the Ford software is driving me insane.

Anyone have any other advice or also having this problem? TIA

Unplug the EVSE from the truck.
Changing the start time to 1 am, save adjustments for weekday & weekends
Plug in the truck.
Any change?

Also note / photo what you see on the dash IPC it might reflect a more accurate time frame than what the buggy app is showing, photo of what it says AFTER plugging in again, you may need to open the door to wake up the display.

That 12:00 am can be a tricky one sometimes. Agree that 12:30 am or 1:00 am would be better.

Setting times inside the truck has been more reliable then the app.

Go to the energy tab slide it to adjust 10% either direction it should reset. Mine is set like yours but sometimes it will start to change as soon as I plug in. By using the slider it will adjust to you set charge time. I know crazy…

I have this problem all the time and it drives me nuts. It starts charging when I plug it in. I have to unplug, start the vehicle then adjust the time in the app then save the settings and then it seems to work. I don't understand why it does this and it's very Inconsistent. Seems to happen a few times a month.

I really appreciate everyone's responses. Thank you all for taking the time to help me!
I adjusted the time to 1 am in the truck instead of the app, and adjusted the target from 100% to 90%. There was no change yesterday. Because I wasn't paying attention to this, my electric bill showed that I used a ton of peak hours charging the truck so today I paid an electrician to add a smart light switch to my 240v plug and then just programmed the smart switch to the hours I want. Cost me $150 in parts and labor and problem solved.

Overall I love this truck, but it's infuriating that we get software updates for things like Karaoke mode, but not for basic functionality like battery charging!

Do you have a departure time, if so what is the leave time, the charging window and the starting and ending SOC goals?

With certain conditions the BMS & charge control logic will commence charging immediately to ensure the battery has reach SOC goal, before the departure time event tolls

Departure time? is the truck clock am/pm and time zone set correctly?

Lets say you start your charge at 12am to say 8am (this is off peak time for me and is the cheapest.) so if your SOC is not capable to hit your target SOC because it takes longer then 8 hours it will start charging as soon as I plug in. If it will hit SOG within the set parameter then it will say start charging at 12am. On some cases it has started to charge as soon as i plugged it in, and I only need to charge for a few hours? So I would adjust the charge percentage from 90% down to 85% then back and it will change back to starting my charge @12am. This seems to be some sort of glitch. This only happens onec in awhile. I hope I explained this ok to understand.

That makes sense. I have it set from 12am - 8am. If I remove the departure time maybe I won't have this issue.

Yes that will fix the issue, just use remote start to prepare the cabin prior to your drive.

Yes, lowering the SOC can help to trick the logic, as long as you're left with sufficient charge to make the next days round trip, if not consider the cost effectiveness of a brief DCFC sometime during the days travels so that your home charging session is optimized for performance & TOU costs.
