2023 Lightning Lariat Blue Cruise 1.0. Now updated to Blue Cruise 1.4 at the dealership. I didn't want to wait forever for the through the air push as it seems to be haphazard on it's delivery. So I took my truck to my local dealership. At first they didn't want to perform the update as it was; "A giant can of worms they're not looking forward to opening." BUT the service manager I was fortunate enough to be assigned with just happens to be the absolute guru of software at the dealership! Yee HAA! So he got to the bottom of the can the next day. Evidently in 2024 there was a service memo from Ford not to perform any updates as it could brick modules. To perform this update multiple modules need to be updated and if just one fails they have to start all over from the beginning. So I was the guinea pig for 2025. It went swimmingly. No problems.

I also asked, just for the S&G, of it about walk away locking. I was told, yes, it can be done. $100. May need to do a work around if the switch for it is not currently under "Locks." which it isn't. BUT, they may be able to make it so. I'll find out here next week as I need to take my 2024 Tesla Model X Plaid in for service this week. Yeah I get a loaner vehicle but I don't like to drive loaners. "What if."

Besides updating modules, I thought configuration was needed.

You can do an easy test. Do you now have assisted lane change? When BC is engaged will it change lanes automatically when you tap your blinker?

Does the 2023 Lariat not have walk-away locking? Ours does, but I keep hearing people say it doesn't work. We have no issues. Did we get lucky?

Only the 2024's have it factory including the toggles in Sync to turn it off.

For 22-23's, if your BCM has been updated (like OP and many others) then you have WAL. But the Sync toggles (Enable and Audible Feedback) will not be there unless enabled with FORScan. Do you have the toggles?

Those toggles could also be enabled at some point via OTA or a FDRS procedure, but I'm not aware of that occurring yet.

The yellow is the WAL lock section that you should see. Note the second mention of Audible Feedback outlined in red above is for the horn honk when you lock the truck manually with your fob. Everyone has that. The one in yellow is for when it does WAL.

Thank you.
I just looked and those toggles for WAL are not there. So hopefully since they updated the BCM when I take it back for WAL they will be. The service manager did mention to get FORScan and see if I can enable WAL with it. If so I do not need to have them do it. So I have ordered the interface and have downloaded the software.

I will try that. Thanks.

I have instructions for enabling the WAL toggles on the FORScan mod page. I really doubt they can do that since it requires a configurator in FDRS and I'm not aware that is available. They will not do FORScan. Ford has said it would come as an OTA.

Same thing for BC. While they can update the IPMA and PSCM, I don't know if that in itself enables the feature. There are FORScan changes floating around that do.

It certainly doesn't enable the Sync toggles. But like WAL, maybe it just works. Ford has again said the toggles and capability will come as an OTA (soon).

Well that's disappointing. I had my truck at my dealer for recall and CSP updates last week, and when I asked about BlueCruise 1.4, I was informed that my truck would only get 1.0. I didn't want to argue with the dealer, it probably wouldn't have changed anything. I've got a '23 Lariat with the 511 package, so I'll get it eventually.

I currently do not see the toggles in the yellow box.

But! They enabled WAL! I drove the truck and parked it in my driveway and went inside. When I went back into the garage the truck locked itself and mirrors folded in. Yet the toggles for it are not there under locks. So it must just work. I found though that I have to drive the vehicle and park it. Not just open and close the doors and walk off.

Thank you very much for the link to the FORScan mod page! I will definitely read it all FIRST!
Thanks "Scotty"!

It should work just opening and closing the door. Or at least that's how mine is. Sometimes just takes a bit longer. But yes, the only way to get the toggles at present is FORScan. It's enabled by default after the BCM update so someone may be in for an unwanted surprise if their dealer randomly updates the BCM as they won't be able to disable it easily.

 YEA!! You are correct! Thank you! Just tried it.
When I get my FORScan interface I'll see about enabling the toggles!

Yeah, the WAL is enabled with the BCM update. There are no further configuration steps unless you want the toggles in Sync (the APIM module).

But I don't know if you get BlueCruise 1.4 just because the IPMA is updated. Besides updating the module, there are configuration changes that have to be made to the IPMA to enable Assisted Lane Change, In-Lane Repositioning, Curve Control, etc. Just updating the module does not do that. Separately, if you want the on/off toggles the APIM/Sync needs a configuration change.

Did you try the blinker test?

WAL works, but no toggles. So I assume they updated the system before delivery, but we don't have it officially.
Truck just locked as I got back inside the house.

It's easy to add the toggles if you want to give FORScan a try. You don't have to worry about hex codes, there is an easy mode version for this mod.

Ford indicated at one time that the features the 2024 were getting (like WAL and ProPower with truck off) would come to us via OTA. But nothing yet.
