Correct. The way it is coded in the IPMA, there is no way circumvent the trailer requirement. The changes are in the common tab of the FORScan spreadsheet, but the IPMA has to be at a certain level for it to work.

If you make the changes and it does not work, then the IPMA needs to be updated. Nothing bad would come out of trying.....you would just get a button for it in your touch screen that you won't be able to turn on.
The ICE values won't always work for the Lightning. Well it works for side view but may disable Lightning specific features depending on year and trim. I wrote about it here.

I have the recipe on the new FORScan thread but here it is again:

Trailer Side View - 2022/2023 only. 2024+ have this already. Shows corresponding camera view alongside of vehicle when turn signal is applied with trailer connected. See here for details. Note: requires newest 12/23 IPMA update.
IPMA 706-01-02 *xxx xxxx xx-- if 0 change to 3, if 7 then no change (2024's)
APIM 7D0-02-03 xxxx x*xx xx-- if 0 change to 8, if 4 change to C, adds Trailer Side View toggle under Driver Assistance

The main thing is that 2024's already have this so don't change it back. And if you put a "8" for the APIM you lose Drive Modes on the 15" screen. They need a "C".

True. Like the changes we were using here to enable the APIM toggles for the new BC features were disabling KDA on the Lightnings until you caught it. lol

I remember that. Luckily it was a seldom used toggle. Feel free to bounce off me on anything you find out in your "lab" as it might relate to Lightnings.

I'm slowly building up data on the 25's. So far have a bunch of Pros (I think that's all they made the first month) and one Flash. Starting to see some different factory values for some of our mods that may require editing the recipes for a 2025.

Had this on my 2017 Honda Civic, good feature but rarely looked at it to be honest.

Wonder if I don't get that functionality due to XLT/small screen. Didn't work out for me last night. Oh well not a big hit to the bank :)

Did you make the FORscan changes outlined above? If so, what values did you change?

For a 23 XLT:
IPMA 706-01-02 *xxx xxxx xx-- change 0 to 3 (turns on functionality)
APIM 7D0-02-03 xxxx x*xx xx-- change 0 to 8 (adds toggle in Sync menu)

Reading comprehension not my strong suit :) I was hoping this would magically just work with stock.

Time to dip into Forscan (after reading & comprehending)-- thanks!

Also note it does require an IPMA update from 12/23 See earlier post. If you had the parking sensor CSP done, you should be good.
